CITI HABITATS’ Florence Ng turned a first-time buyer onto Long Island City.
The young hedge funder had been renting in FiDi but we fed up paying “exorbitant.ˮ
After several failed attempts to find something suitable in Brooklyn, Ng took him to LIC. “He didn’t know anything about Long Island City, but I convinced him that it may be a good area to look,ˮ said the agent.
It took just one look at a one bedroom with a balcony at 1 Murray Park at 11-25 45th Avenue for him to put in an offer $10,000 under the $530,000 aksing price.
Now he’s moved in a loves being a homeowner, said Ng.
“He loves the apartment because it’s so close to his work — the commute to Manhattan is less than 10 minutes.
“He loves that there is a park across the street where he and his friends can play pick-up basketball. He likes walking out to his balcony and getting fresh air.
“He says that it’s weird being a homeowner, but he loves that he’s not throwing money away for rent and that he’s building up his equity.ˮ
Doron Zwickel of CORE represented the seller.
