Fresh off a leasing deal for millennial media company, Mic, Transwestern partner Lindsay Ornstein will moderate a debate on where the office market is headed.
Ornstein, a veteran New York City broker, will moderate the Trends in Office Leasing panel at the upcoming Real Estate Weekly Womenʼs Forum.
“Newly constructed space, competitive rental rates and economic incentive packages are attracting companies like Mic to Lower Manhattan,ˮ said Ornstein.
“Forum attendees will gain insights from diverse perspectives on the importance of this trend and what it means for other submarkets.ˮ
Mic signed a lease for the entire 36,000 s/f 82nd floor of 1 World Trade Center, and will relocate from smaller offices at 325 Hudson Street.
The 67 percent leased 1 WTC has attracted media giant Condé Nast as its anchor along with the General Services Administration, online gaming company High 5 Games and mobile advertising firm xAd. The deals follow a bump in leasing activity Downtown that has been attributed to several factors that will be debated by Ornstein along with panelists Lisa Keill, the JLL broker who brought Miscrosoft to Times Square; Colliers International president Cynthia Foster; and CBRE power broker Snezana Anderson.
The morning event will also feature a focus on the flow of private equity into the NYC real estate market with TPG chief executive Greta Guggenheim; Alisa Mall of Carnegie Corporation, Blackstone COO Kathleen McCarthy and Sara Queen, executive vice president at Brookfield Property Partners.
Real Estate Weekly Women’s Forum, this year being held in association with EisnerAmper, will take place at The Bar Building, 36 West 44th Street, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday May 11.
