Spanx squeezes into midtown space

NEW YORK, NY — June 19, 2014 —  Adams & Co. Real Estate, LLC, Manhattan’s premier full-service real estate firm specializing in property management, brokerage and consulting services, recently brokered 6,000-square-feet for Spanx Inc. at 42 West 39th Street.

David Levy, principal, and Brett Maslin of Adams & Co. represented the landlord, 42-52 West 39 Street LLC., while Corey Borg and Chris Mongeluzo of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Inc. represented the tenant. Although the details of the transaction were not disclosed, asking rent was $43 per square foot. Spanx will be using this space as general and executive offices as well as showroom space for their first NYC office.

“Located within the Transit Triangle, 42 West 39th Street is an ideal location for Spanx to set up their first New York City office,” said Levy. “The building is not only located near all major forms of transportation, it is also located in the heart of a cultural fashion district.”

The Spanx brand houses over 200 products ranging from slimming apparel and swimsuits, to undergarments and active wear for women. Built in 1927, this 18-story, 138,788-square-foot building features a concierge, 24/7 access, a newly renovated lobby and new windows. Notable tenants include Everlast Worldwide, Bluefly.com, Castlewood Apparel and Wear First LLC. Retail tenants include AEC Reprographics and Dunkin Donuts.
