Durkin joined Douglas Elliman in early 2016 as Executive Vice President of Acquisitions and Growth.

“Expertise in real estate, integrity, dedication and leadership all make Scott an extraordinary fit for us at Elliman,” said Lorber. “I am confident that these strong qualities will benefit his new role overseeing our company’s operations.”

“Scott’s experience bridges real estate, management and business,” added Herman. “He has truly become an invaluable member of our executive team and we’re thrilled for his continued growth at our firm.”

Since beginning his career as a sales agent with the Corcoran Group in 1991, Durkin has grown his reputation, becoming a protégé of Barbara Corcoran and working directly alongside her for many years.

He was directly involved in many major milestones, including the sale of the company to NRT and the acquisition of brokerages in the Hamptons, Palm Beach and New York.

During his tenure at Corcoran, Durkin also held several corporate positions including Chief Operating Officer and Senior Managing Director of the Chelsea Flatiron office.

Douglas Elliman also opened a new location for its expanded Tribeca office, which will be located at 140 Franklin Street.

The new, 10,000 s/f space will accommodate the office’s growing roster of agents specialized in representing the new luxury residential development in the area.

“Our first Tribeca office opened over two decades ago with just 12 agents operating in about 2,500 square feet of space,” said Steven James, CEO of Douglas Elliman’s New York brokerage.

“We are so proud of the growth and incredible success of this office over the years, and this move reflects both the rapid rise of residential offerings in the area, and Douglas Elliman’s continued preeminence in Manhattan’s real estate market.”

“We are thrilled to move into this lovely new space that reflects the evolution of Tribeca as well as the evolution and growth of Douglas Elliman’s presence here,” said Doug Williford, executive manager for sales in Douglas Elliman’s Tribeca office.

The space is scheduled to open in November 2016.
