Work is progressing on John Catsimatidisʼ 86 Fleet Place in Forte Greene, Brooklyn.

When it opens next year, the 33-story tower will be the tallest and largest building in the neighborhood.

The luxury mixed-use tower is part of a four-building development by Catsimatidisʼ Red Apple Group on the western edge of Fort Greene in Brooklyn.

Designed by Goldstein Hill & West Architects (GHWA) the tower will rise to just under 400 feet tall, comprise of 478,000 s/f with 440 apartments.

GHWA crafted a design noted for its curved, cylindrical crown and delicately placed glass balconies.
Amenities will include 11,000 s/f of retail space with outdoor dining, along with a landscaped community terrace and penthouse rooftop with Manhattan and river views.

According to Alan Goldstein, AIA, “We continue to enjoy our work with Red Apple and Brooklyn is an exciting neighborhood and architectural context for our firm’s new designs.”

Closings underway at 56 Leonard

56 Leonard, the 60-story tower conceived by architects Herzog & de Meuron, has reached a development milestone.

The TriBeCa tower has announced the commencement of closings of its residences.

“We are pleased to have been able to add this sculptural building to Manhattan’s already dramatic skyline. We think it enhances the panorama of the city from many different angles,” said Izak Senbahar, president of Alexico Group, developer of 56 Leonard.

Standing at 821 feet high at the intersection of Church Street and Leonard Street, residents will soon start moving into the tower.

Artist Anish Kapoor has collaborated with Herzog & de Meuron to integrate a specially commissioned work of art at the tower’s base.

Marking Kapoor’s first permanent public work in New York, the two-story high, 40-ton stainless steel sculpture is slated for installation this Fall.

56 Leonard has two final penthouses for sale.

Both feature direct elevator entry, 14 foot ceilings, open-air private outdoor spaces, and jaw-dropping panoramic views.

Amenities include a 24-hour doorman and concierge, refrigerated storage, bicycle and stroller storage, 17,000 s/f on the 9th and 10th floor which includes a 75-foot pool with a hot tub and sundeck, a library lounge, 25-seat theater with a private terrace, a private dining room with catering kitchen, children’s playroom, fitness center, treatment rooms, a steam room and a sauna.

Fortis Property Group has launched 1 Seaport, designed by Goldstein Hill & West Architects.
Located in the heart of Lower Manhattan’s Seaport District, the all-glass tower rises 60-stories above the waterfront offering unobstructed river and city skyline views from nearly every residence.

1 Seaport is the first condominium project in what is considered the most historic neighborhood in the city, and one on the cusp of being transformed into a cultural and culinary mecca via property developers Fortis Group.

The tower offers 80 residences ranging from one- to four-bedroom homes and topped with two duplex penthouses.

The new Seaport will include a reimagined Pier 17 and Fulton Market, an iPic Movie Theater and an expanded new ferry network, which focuses on the East River, that will launch in 2017.

Related Companies hosted a VIP unveiling for 70 Vestry, the Tribeca luxury condominium which recently launched sales.

The Robert A.M. Stern Architects-designed, 14-story development located along the Hudson River offers residences with protected views.

Interiors of the 46 apartments are by Daniel Romualdez and range in size from 2,400 to more than 7,000 s/f.

Related Sales LLC and Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group are co-exclusively handling sales and the boutique building.

Ismael Leyva Architects, P.C. is the executive and residential architect on the project.
The 46 residences, ranging in size from two- to five- bedrooms, have 10 to over 12 ft. ceilings, oversized windows, wide-plank oak flooring and entry foyers. Many of the residences also have libraries and studies.

Residents enter through arcades adjacent to a porte-cochere entrance for cars that open to a private cobblestone garden court and then into a double-height lobby.

The court also provides access to the building’s automated parking system.

A suite of informal rooms leads off the lobby and includes a library, café, a billiards room, lounge and dining suite.

Nearly an entire floor has been designed as the fitness club, outfitted by The Wright Fit, and offering additional yoga/Pilates studio, singles squash court, lap pool, and sauna and steam rooms.

The Block at 70 Vestry is a children’s playroom and a Dog City pet spa offering a host of day pet services.

Re-imagined Washington Plaza opens for business

The redesigned Washington Plaza Art Deco prewar rental complex has launched sales.

Located in Jackson Heights, Washington Plaza, which is being converted into a co-op building, will fill a void for first-time homebuyers, families and buyers looking for a spacious home.

Partners and BFC Partners, launched leasing of the tower’s 50 market-rate residences.

Sitting atop the commercial podium of the mixed-use project known as City Point, 7 DeKalb Avenue is one of three residential towers that is a part of the 1.8 million-square-foot development.

Designed by COOKFOX with interior architecture by SLCE Architects, BanG Studio, and Trimbach, the tower features homes, ranging from 650 s/f one-bedrooms to 1,100 s/f two-bedroom, some with private terraces.

Amenities include a 6,000 s/f public terrace with planting gardens, lawn space and bar counter; a 24-hour monitored lobby; an on-site resident manager, two resident lounges, fitness center; a play room, screening room, laundry rooms and allowances for pets.

Corcoran Group and Great Jones Realty are the leasing agents. Pricing ranges from $2,750 to $5,500 per month.
