Brookfield Property Partners announced that McKool Smith, one of America’s leading trial firms, has signed a lease at One Manhattan West, Brookfield’s 67-story, 2.1-million-square-foot office tower anticipated for delivery at the end of 2019.
One Manhattan West is part of Brookfield’s new eight-acre neighborhood being developed in the Hudson Yards district on Manhattan’s west side. McKool Smith will join the tenant roster at the building, including anchor tenant Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, Flom LLP and the new headquarters for the NHL. McKool Smith signed a 15-year lease to occupy floors 50 and 51 of the state-of-the-art office building, covering 64,120 s/f.

Manhattan West is an eight-acre, six-building mixed-use development, stretching from Ninth Avenue to Tenth Avenue and 31st Street to 33rd Street. It will feature nearly six million square feet of Class-A office space, luxury residences at The Eugene, a boutique hotel and landscaped gardens and street-front retail along with with public art and events by Arts Brookfield, Brookfield’s award-winning arts and entertainment program.
One Manhattan West is rising on the northeast corner of the site at Ninth Avenue and 33rd Street. It is the first of two new major office buildings to be built at the site. Two other commercial buildings comprise the remaining office space: Five Manhattan West, which has been completely renovated and re-launched as a collaborative urban space with large floor plates and floor-to-ceiling glass, creating environments that foster innovation and exploration for cutting-edge companies like JP Morgan Chase, Markit, R/GA Media and Whole Foods, which will anchor the ground level; and “The Lofts,” a boutique, 13-story building that features high ceilings, terraces and exposed I-beam columns.
The Eugene at Manhattan West opened earlier this year, featuring 844 rental units, bringing a surge of residents to the vibrant Hudson Yards district. The Eugene features more than 55,000 square feet of unrivaled amenity space, offering residents a new standard in experiential living with a series of curated conveniences and exclusive social opportunities.
