Modern Spaces, the Long Island City-based residential brokerage, has joined forces with neighborhood coffeehouse Sweetleaf to open a first-of-its-kind outpost in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The shop will be located near the Williamsburg waterfront at 135 Kent Avenue and North 6th Street, directly across from luxury condominium The Edge.
It will be the first office in Williamsburg for Modern Spaces, adding to the existing two offices in Long Island City and one in Astoria. With this expansion, Modern Spaces will be hiring 45 sales agents to be based in Williamsburg.
For Sweetleaf, this will be the first coffee shop in Williamsburg joining two additional stores in Long Island City. The grand opening is scheduled for April.
“Long Island City has been completely captivated by Sweetleaf and the care and craft they put into their coffee,” said Eric Benaim, CEO and president of Modern Spaces.
“So much harmony exists between Modern Spaces’ and Sweetleaf’s business philosophies that it feels like a natural fit for both companies to come together and create something really special for the Williamsburg community.”
The 4,100 s/f corner location with 120 feet of store frontage will have two distinctive styles featuring green elements.
Sweetleaf will occupy 1,100 s/f while Modern Spaces will occupy the remaining 3,000 s/f. The space has a designated “Sweet Space” where clients will have a laptop zone with free WiFi, a Foosball table and lounge with couch seating.
The Modern Spaces area will have a large 12 x 32 foot Brooklyn-inspired mural created by Williamsburg artist Skewville as well as communal tables which can seat up to 45 agents.
