Iron Chef Michael Symon has sold his Soho penthouse a year after buying it with wife Elizabeth.
The couple paid $3.05 million for the two bedroom home at 210 Lafayette. City records show they just sold it for $3.615 million.
A StreetEasy listing by Sotheby’s noted the apartment had a tenant in place until April 2013.
The unit itself has all the trappings of luxury and undulating exterior walls courtesy of architect Richard Gluckman, of Gluckman Mayner Architects, who designed the building.
It was developed by hotelier Andre Balazs and Cape Advisors and opened in 2005.
James Beard-award winning Symon is a Cleveland native credited with saving the city’s downtown restaurant scene.
He runs several acclaimed restaurants in The Forest City and in Detroit, Michigan and he’s a regular on Food Network shows such as Iron Chef America, Food Feuds, and The Best Thing I Ever Ate.
HAPPY anniversary to David Schlamm and his City Connections Realty (CCRNY).
The residential and commercial brokerage is celebrating its 25th year in business. With two offices and close to 120 agents, the company continues to thrive.
Schlamm started the firm in 1988 from a lower level apartment in Greenwich Village with 10 agents.
In 2004, the company introduced Manhattan’s first successful high-split model, which is still going strong.
“In this city, many firms have come and gone in the last few years, let alone the last 25. The fact that we’re still here, growing and doing better than ever is a real testament to our business model, the agents who work for us and knows the company is run,” Schlamm said.
To celebrate the milestone, Schlamm is hiring a private yacht to take his agents on a twilight cruise this summer.
A group of billionaire investors have bought a $90 million-plus penthouse at the ultra-luxury One57 — as a little investment.
The Wall Street Journal reported that hedge-fund owner William Ackman and his monied cronies are in contract to purchase the 14,000 s/f penthouse at the Extell tower for upwards of $90 million.
A second 10,000 s/f penthouse has also been snapped up at the under-construction high-rise for “between $90 and $100 million.”
