TOP agents from Douglas Elliman in Long Island will join director Baz Luhrmann for a private screening of his film The Great Gatsby tonight (Wednesday).
The brokerage is a sponsor of the annual Gold Coast International Film Festival, host of the event.
The film is based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1925 novel set on Long Island’s Gold Coast.
DE has several properties with ties to The Great Gatsby on its books right now. 8 Sands Light, on the market for $5.9 million, sits on the Beacon Towers estate where the original gothic-style home was reportedly Fitzgerald’s inspiration for Jay Gatsby’s mansion.
“We are thrilled to be included in this exciting moment in cinema, and in our community. We are very proud that one of the most talked about films this year is debuting in our backyard,” said Karen Newhouse, sales manager of the Port Washington office.
The screening takes place at Soundview Cinemas in Port Washington with an after party at Hempstead House.
The Great Gatsby hits theaters nationwide on May 10.
