Six local food and beverage businesses will join anchor tenants Brooklyn Brewery and Russ & Daughters at the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s new food manufacturing hub.
Offering a diverse blend of foods, the companies will manufacture and sell their products on-site at Building 77, the largest development project at the Yard to date, which will create 3,000 jobs.
The food manufacturing hub at Building 77 will bring an amenity to the Yard and the local community, and create a place where tenants and their employees can eat, work and collaborate.
Complementing the larger, more established anchor tenants, the six local businesses are smaller, younger companies. In addition, two existing Yard tenants will have kiosks in the Hub offering locally made products.
Brooklyn Greenery provides healthy and clean food options in a 580s/f space.
Rustik Tavern will have 592 s/f to serve classic comfort dishes and cocktails with a “Rustik” flair and develop a concept of community engagement .
The Food Sermon founded by Chef Rawlston Williams, offers Caribbean-inspired cuisine at affordable prices. It will occupy 1,277 s/f.
Tiny Drumsticks, a fully licensed and equipped commissary designed to provide space for small manufacturers, emerging caterers, private chefs and special event coordinators will occupy 2,171 s/f while We Rub You will hasve 2,026 s/f. Launched as a food stand at Brooklyn Flea’s Smorgasburg selling Korean BBQ sliders, We Rub You is minority certified and 100 per owned and operated by Korean-American sisters Ann and Janet Chung, who are committed to providing support for survivors of human trafficking. We Rub You will be manufacturing an expanded line of Korean specialties and condiments .
Grandchamps, a Bed-Stuy Haitian eatery will offer coffee, tea, and Haitian breakfast and lunch options from a 630 s/f space.
