Elliman acquires Rockville firm

Douglas Elliman Real Estate has acquired Coldwell Banker Surf of Rockville Centre, NY, owned and managed by Kevin Leatherman.

Leatherman, a top-producing agent on Long Island, and his team of 14 agents will join Elliman’s Merrick branch, led by Barbara Schultis, executive vice president and regional manager of Douglas Elliman Long Island.

“Kevin is one of the best and brightest real estate agents in the business,” added Ann Conroy, president of Douglas Elliman’s Long Island Division. “The addition of his staff and their broad understanding of the local market shows that we are committed to growing our business into all Long Island neighborhoods.”

Leatherman is ranked in the top three of all Nassau County brokers, and is an Accredited Buyer Representative and former president of the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island.

He has brokered deals with both buyers and sellers all over Nassau County, including both the South Shore communities fronting the Atlantic Ocean and Gold Coast communities of the North Shore.

“This new merge is a win-win across the board for our buyers, sellers and agents as we’re increasing our market reach by joining forces with the area’s largest real estate brokerage,” said Leatherman.

“Elliman offers not only a large footprint that will take my sphere of influence to another level, but a tremendous amount of tech-savvy resources, market knowledge and support.”

Following his B.B.A. in Banking & Finance at Hofstra University, and a successful career selling and trading Foreign Exchange for Wall Street firms, Leatherman moved directly into real estate.
