DOB moves licensing, registration renewals online

Starting on May 4, 2020, DOB will begin offering license and registration renewals online using our DOB NOW online portal.

No longer will construction professionals with DOB registrations and licenses have to come into our office for these renewals.

Starting on May 8, 2020, DOB will no longer be accepting these renewal applications through the mail or in person.

While the department has long planned to make this shift to online licensing with its DOB NOW Licensing platform, it has sped up the timeline for the project in light of social distancing concerns related to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. See our service notice.

Last month, the Department previously announced that all licenses and registrations issued by the Department that are due to expire during the ongoing state of emergency will be automatically extended until the emergency is over.

This step was taken to allow construction professionals to continue working on essential and emergency construction projects, without having to make an unnecessary trip into our office during the ongoing emergency just because of a recently expired license.

This automatic extension is still in effect until the emergency is over, but this change means that licensees and registrants will be able to get their needed renewals online at any time.
