Alfa Development has just introduced Chelsea Green, the latest addition to the developer’s line of sustainable buildings, due to open in the fall of 2013.
The 14-story, 51-unit condo development at 151 West 21st Street in Chelsea has been designed by the award-winning architects of Stephen B. Jacobs Group.
Chelsea Green integrates modern design and state-of-the-art green technology systems. The amenities package focuses on the concept of wellness through its Wellness Center comprised of a lounge, fitness room, spa with sauna and treatment room, and a rooftop lounge.
Chelsea Green offers one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments that, says Alfa, “raises the standard of luxury living, while introducing residents to a sustainable, healthier living environment.”
“We want to shift the concept of luxury from ‘brand’recognition to quality recognition,” explained Michael Namer, founder and CEO of Alfa Development.
“Today’s buyers are very discerning. They want everything: location, design, amenities, and sustainability – and we have all of that at Chelsea Green.”
Chelsea Green may be the first LEED Version 3 Gold-certified project in the United States, according to Andrew Zumwalt-Hathaway, director of sustainability consulting at Steven Winter Associates.
Each residence features The Eric Ripert Kitchen by Poggenpohl. The award-winning chef designed the kitchen to exceed Energy Star standards. Interiors are by Richard Livingston of Period Design.
The building has 51 one- to three-bedroom apartments plus a four-bedroom penthouse with private roof terrace. Prices start at $815,000 for a one bedroom to $2,725,000 for a three bed. The 3,110 s/f penthouse is $8.388 million.
