Construction has begun on a black NoMAD boutique hotel temporarily called Prime Hotel at 17 West 24th Street between Broadway and Avenue of the Americas.
The hotel, which will offer views of Madison Square Park, has been designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and will feature interiors by Philip Johnson Alan Ritchie Architects.
The 18-story, 30,000 s/f property will have 68 guest rooms, a restaurant, and a 1,000 s/f rooftop bar and lounge one-third of which will be indoors.
The developer is Eben Ascel Corp.
“This will be the quintessential New York hotel, a place where visitors can experience the life of the city as it plays out in the chicest bars, restaurants and hotels,” said Kaufman.
