Cushman & Wakefield announced that Mark S. Weiss has joined the firm’s New York office brokerage group as executive vice chairman.
Weiss, widely regarded as one of the leading commercial real estate brokerage professionals in New York, has more than three decades of experience in commercial real estate.
He joins Cushman & Wakefield from Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF), where he served as a vice chairman.
During his career, he has completed more than 1,800 transactions and twice won the Real Estate Board of New York’s Most Ingenious Deal of the Year Award.
As a leader in the tenant representative practice at NGKF, Weiss has represented, among others, the following clients; Cleary Gottlieb, The Blackstone Group, Osler, SEIU 32-BJ, Fitzpatrick Cella Harper & Scinto, Catholic Charities, Duane Morris, Kasowitz Benson, AppNexus, Hughes Hubbard & Reed, Mintz, Levin, Publishers Clearinghouse, Jackson Lewis, Cornell University, Columbia University, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), Mt. In 2015, he led teams that closed the two most noteworthy land assemblages for healthcare institutions in New York City; securing most of a city block at 73rd Street and the FDR Drive for a new campus for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Hunter College, as well as a full city block in Harlem for a Proton Beam Research and Therapy Center to treat pediatric cancers. This new facility will be jointly owned by Memorial Sloan Kettering, Montefiore Hospital, Mt. Sinai Medical Center and ProHealth Medical Management.
Weiss is a graduate of Syracuse University. He is also a graduate of the David Rockefeller Fellows Class of 2005 and is on The Commercial Board of Directors of The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY).

Woodmont Industrial Partners announced the hire of Ben Rosen, who has joined the firm as the director of acquisitions.
Rosen will spearhead the expansion of Woodmont Industrial Partners’ portfolio of industrial properties and land sites across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and beyond.
Previously, he was an asset manager at KTR Capital Partners, where he was in charge of the firm’s 10 million square foot Tri-State portfolio. During this time, Rosen facilitated several large lease transactions including a 1.1 million-square-foot lease with Amazon in Carteret, New Jersey.
Before that, Rosen spent several years as an associate on the investments team where he was responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing real estate investments in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest regions.
Rosen received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with concentrations in real estate and finance.

WinnCompanies, a national property development and management company, announced that Meade Curtis will join the company’s development arm as vice president.
Curtis will be based in New York City and will be responsible for executing business and fostering institutional investment relationships throughout New York and New Jersey, where he has invested in nearly 5,000 units of housing ranging from market rate and rent stabilized apartments to Mitchell-Lama, Section 8 and LIHTC properties.
Curtis comes to WinnDevelopment after nearly four years as a vice president at AllianceBernstein Real Estate Partners, where he was responsible for sourcing investments on the behalf of the $1.2 billion real estate opportunity fund.
Previously, he worked in the real estate acquisitions group at Blackstone and the real estate investment banking group at Merrill Lynch.
Curtis holds a dual degree in Finance and Economics from Washington University in St. Louis.

Coastal Land Services, Inc. announced the appointment of Suzanne Garcia as Senior Underwriting Counsel.
Garcia has over 30 years of diverse experience in the title and legal real estate sector.
Previously, she was New York State Counsel for Westcor Land Title Insurance Company, as well as assistant vice president and Counsel for Quality Control at United General Title Insurance Company.
Over the course of her multifaceted career Garcia has worked not only on the transactional side, but also as a title closer, title reader and title officer, both for First American Title Insurance Company as well as several other independent agents.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in 1995 from the State University of New York, Empire State College in Hartsdale, N.Y.
She obtained her J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law in 1999 and is admitted to practice in New York.
She is the past Chair of the Education Committee of the New York State Land Title Association and currently serves on the Education Committee.

David H. Dillard has joined LRC Properties, LLC in its asset and property management division.
He is responsible for oversight of the administration and financial performance of properties in LRC’s Charlotte portfolio.
He will also be assisting on acquisitions and dispositions, as well as underwriting and evaluating of potential transactions in Charlotte and along the East Coast.
David brings more than 30 years of commercial and corporate real estate experience to LRC Properties.
Most recently, he was senior vice president, regional property director for Bank of America. Prior to that, he held property management and leasing positions at Trinity Partners, Shorenstein Realty Services, and Charter Properties.
Dillard graduated from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC with a BA in economics.

Scott Kearns has served Peckar & Abramson clients for over a decade, practicing primarily in the construction law and commercial litigation practice groups.
A former Assistant District Attorney and long-time civil litigator, Kearns has substantial trial experience, resulting in many favorable trial verdicts and substantial monetary awards. Mr.
He received his law degree from the Fordham University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree from Union College.
Denis Serkin has almost 20 years of experience in the construction industry. Due to his background in project engineering, he is especially effective in counseling clients and understanding their needs.
Serkin has extensive dispute resolution experience in the prosecution and defense of various construction claims and disputes, including scheduling, delay and impact damages, liens, payment/performance bonds and design defects.
The firm has also promoted five attorneys to the position of Senior Counsel and Senior Associate. Warren Friedman from the Miami office, Jesse Keene from the Washington, D.C. office, and Jenifer Minsky from the New Jersey office were promoted to the position of Senior Counsel.
