Willie Choi, a commercial property management veteran with more than 14 years of experience, has joined Meringoff Properties, Inc. as a vice president.
Choi will oversee 700,000 square feet of commercial real estate located in Manhattan.
Immediately prior to joining, Choi served as property manager with the William Macklowe Company. Earlier, he worked for CBRE, the Related Companies and Shorenstein Realty Services.
In 2011, Choi was nominated for BOMA’s Manager of the Year award and his buildings have been nominated for BOMA’s Pinnacle Office Building of the Year. In 2014, he achieved LEED Silver certification for operation and maintenance.
Choi graduated from Baruch College with a degree in Business Administration. He is an active member of REBNY and BOMA.

Cushman & Wakefield announced that Jane H. Orlin has joined the firm as a Senior Managing Director in the Business Incentives Practice.
Orlin will be reporting to Portfolio Solutions’ President, Kevin C. Hughes.
With over 20 years of involvement in the field of tax credit and incentive negotiation and administration, Orlin brings first-hand experience of saving Fortune 500 Companies over $250 million in tax savings, grants, property tax abatements, sales tax exemptions, corporate income tax credits and donations, utility discounts, waivers on permitting fees and other financial benefits including bond and tax increment financing.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Orlin served for nine years as Senior Director with Automatic Data Processing (“ADP”) for the Tax Credit Practice, securing over $40 million of incentives to date.
Additionally serving as Northeast Practice Leader and National Practice Leader for Economic Development Services (EDS), Orlin managed a team of 14 professionals for combined revenue greater than $14 million; subsequently transforming the northeast’s underperforming practice to a leading powerhouse in the United States.
Before ADP, she previously held positions at Stadtmauder Bailkin & Biggins and at KPMG.

RKF announced that Alex Cesar has joined as a Senior Director in the firm’s Miami office.
Cesar has more than 15 years’ experience in retail real estate and has worked with numerous leading U.S. and international brands as they have expanded to new markets.
Prior to joining RKF, Cesar led JLL’s retail department in Brazil, where he spearheaded tenant representation, agency leasing, market studies and capital markets activities.
Cesar previously served as leasing director for BR Malls, overseeing leasing of a portfolio comprising three million square feet of space in six malls in southeastern Brazil.
Among Cesar’s most high-profile transactions were the Nike Factory Store in Recife, Brazil — the largest of the brand’s stores in Latin America — along with sports equipment retailer Oakley’s flagship store in Ipanema, and Brazilian urban fashion retailer Osklen’s flagship store in Miami.
Cesar, fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin.
He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Brazil Florida Business Council.

Two additional field engineers have joined Integrated Business Systems (IBS) in Totowa.
Henry Osias and Ian Liberato are working directly with IBS clients, providing administration and support for their computer and networking technologies.
Henry Osias comes to IBS with 10 years of technology industry experience and recently graduated from PC Age with a certificate in Internet engineering.
Ian Liberato, who served in the U.S. Navy until 2015, earned an information security certificate from County College of Morris.

Jeffrey Katz, the CEO and Principal Owner of Sherwood Equities announced the appointment of Jonathan Snider as Vice President of Acquisitions and Development.
Snider will help guide the development of a number of properties in Sherwood’s pipeline.
This includes a new project on West 36th Street and 10th Avenue on Manhattan’s Far West Side, which allows for approximately 300,000 s/f.
Snider will also lead the search to identify and evaluate potential opportunities for Sherwood to expand its portfolio.
Previously, Snider ran the Moinian Group’s acquisitions team, identifying properties in various asset classes for the company.
He assisted Moinian with its $361 million Israeli bond issuance and the formation of its debt-lending platform.
Snider also contributed to the development of 572 11th Avenue, a 168-unit multifamily project, and 220 11th Avenue, a 41-unit luxury condominium project.
Snider holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University.
He replaces Ryan Nelson, who relocated to Washington, D.C. after eight years with Sherwood Equities.

Douglaston Development announced that Neda Barzideh Levy, Esq. has joined the firm as the new Chief Administrative Officer.
Levy will oversee the refinement of company policies and systems while supporting her fellow co-executives and their teams in their roles and projects.
Additionally, Neda will identify and execute on priorities that impact company’s acquisitions as well as ongoing projects and overall company transactions.
Her corporate duties include working with company executives on strategy, risk management, marketing and public relations, and human capital and resource allocation.
Previously, Levy was the Vice President and General Counsel of Tahl Propp Equities, LLC. In this role, she closed $600+ million in complex refinancing/acquisition loans and managed complicated condominium conversions of occupied/vacant buildings valued at approximately $350+ million.
Additionally, Levy created and managed the legal department and acted as a strategic advisor to the company’s executives.
Before joining TPE, Levy was an associate attorney at Kronish Lieb Weiner & Hellman LLP.
She is an active member of Women in Housing and Finance, New York City Bar Association and served as Vice President of American Business Women’s Association, a national non-profit association helping entrepreneurs and professionals to advance their careers.
Levy graduated cum laude from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2003; she also received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rochester with High Honor in Political Science and graduated cum laude in 2000.

Amherst Capital Management has formed a new Research and Analytics team based in the firm’s New York office.
Joining the firm are three sell-side research analysts with years of experience who will help bring insights and opportunities to Amherst Capital’s investors.
Sandeep Bordia, who most recently served as Head of Securitized Products Research for Barclays Capital, will lead the team as Head of Research and Analytics.
Bordia will work closely with Laurie Goodman, Non-Executive Director of Research and Analytics, to leverage the full extent of Amherst Capital’s intellectual property to enhance the investment capabilities of the firm.
During his eight-year tenure at Barclays Capital, Bordia developed and led research analytics, servicing clients in New York and London.
Prior to Barclays Bordia worked in mortgage research at Lehman Brothers where he was focused on servicing and origination.
Bordia brings with him two former colleagues from Barclays, Jasraj Vaidya and Aaron Haan, who will support these initiatives and the investment teams as research analysts.
Vaidya and Haan will leverage Amherst Capital’s proprietary data and analytics1 to conduct in-depth quantitative and qualitative analyses of the real estate markets, support investment ideas and write thematic whitepapers.
Vaidya has more than 10 years of experience in the real estate investment space.
He most recently served as the Head of US CMBS & Residential Credit Strategy at Barclays.
Haan, who also joins from Barclays, has more than seven years of industry experience.
Most recently, he served as Vice President within the commercial mortgage research group, specializing in private label and agency commercial mortgage backed securities.
