Lend Lease announced the appointment of Melissa Burch as Executive General Manager, New York, for the Americas Development business.
Burch will lead and grow development business in the New York market, pursue and identify development opportunities and large-scale urban regeneration projects throughout the greater metropolitan area, as well as support our development efforts nationally.
Prior to joining Lend Lease, Burch served as Executive Vice President for Forest City Ratner Companies where she had overall responsibility for commercial and residential development.
In this role, she oversaw the development of the Atlantic Yards project, a public/private partnership development extending 22 acres and comprised of the Barclays Center and 8M SF of new rental and condominium housing, office, retail space, and eight acres of public open space.
Burch received her Bachelor of Arts in Government from Harvard College and her Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.

MaryAnne Gilmartin, the President and CEO of Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC), announced the appointment of Susi Yu as Executive Vice President for Residential Development.
A long-time FCRC executive, Yu returns to the company from a stint as Senior Vice President at the Howard Hughes Corporation, replacing Melissa Burch.
Yu will guide the development of Pacific Park Brooklyn for the Greenland Forest City venture. She will also supervise existing residential properties at 8 Spruce in Lower Manhattan and DKLB BKLYN in Fort Greene as well as identify new development opportunities.
During her tenure at the Howard Hughes Corporation, Yu oversaw Phase Two of the South Street Seaport redevelopment plan in Lower Manhattan.
Prior to her role at the Howard Hughes Corporation, she spent nearly 13 years leading FCRC’s development of large scale, mixed-use urban projects.
Yu, who joined the firm in 2001, also worked intensively on the planning for Pacific Park Brooklyn as well as the development of 15 MetroTech, an office building in Downtown Brooklyn.
Trained as an architect at the University of Virginia’s School of Architecture, Yu previously worked for ten years as an architect, most recently as a Project Architect for Robert A.M. Stern.
She is a graduate of Columbia University’s Master of Science in Real Estate Development Program and is a registered architect in New York State.

JLL has appointed Managing Director Linda Aronson to lead the firm’s Property Management group in the New York tri-state market, with a specific focus on new business development efforts.
Matt Duthie, managing director, will continue to oversee the division’s technical and operations functions to ensure best practices in New York.
Prior to leading the firm’s New York tri-state Property Management group, Aronson oversaw property management services for JLL’s suburban tri-state markets.
She joined LaSalle Partners in 1982 as a property accountant in New York after LaSalle Advisors acquired the Daily News Building, also known as 220 East 42nd Street.
She then continued to advance her career and leadership in the property management business after LaSalle Partners merged with Jones Lang Wootton in 1999 and formed JLL.
Prior to joining JLL, Matt Duthie served as an executive vice president with Ruben Cos.. Earlier, he was a senior vice president and co-director with Reckson Associates Realty Corp. and handled the daily operations of its 6 million-square-foot portfolio of Class A office property in New York.

Community Access, Inc., a non-profit organization that assists New Yorkers living with psychiatric disabilities in transitioning to independent living, has elected the President of FirstService Residential New York, Dan Wurtzel, as the newest member of its Board of Directors.
Founded in 1974, Community Access helps over 10,000 homeless and low-income New Yorkers by providing affordable housing, job training, hot meals, counseling and crisis support services.
With over $140 million in real estate holdings, the agency has built housing developments throughout New York City, which have won numerous awards within the supportive housing industry.
As President of FirstService Residential New York, Wurtzel oversees the departments that collectively manage more than 500 condominium, cooperative and rental properties comprising 70,000 apartments.
He manages client retention, leadership development, organizational growth and strategic initiatives.
Wurtzel is working with the Community Access team to assist the agency in achieving the organization’s goal to build 1,000 new units of affordable housing throughout New York City.

Jim Costello, CRE has joined Real Capital Analytics as Senior Vice President.
Costello, recently named a Counsellor of Real Estate, joins RCA from CBRE where he was Managing Director of Investment Research for the Americas, providing economic and market insight to industry professionals in development of their investment strategies.
During his 20 years at CBRE, Jim also served as Director of Investment Strategy at CBRE Econometric Advisors and as an Economist at CBRE Torto Wheaton Research.
Costello is a noted authority on the real estate capital markets and has authored many opinion pieces and articles for industry journals and publications.
He began his career in economic and real estate research through his work with Chicago-area government agencies.
He received his Masters in Economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and has a Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of Chicago.

Richard Margerison, Jr. has joined the team at Prism Capital Partners, LLC as senior property manager.
He is heading management of the commercial real estate owner/operator’s Princeton Pike Corporate Center, an eight-building, 800,000 s/f Class A office park in Lawrenceville.
With more than two decades of industry experience in property and facilities management, project management, and construction, Margerison previously held senior-level positions at CBRE/Trammell Crow Company and The Gale Company.
He holds active memberships in the Building Owners and Managers Association and the International Facility Management Association.

Fraser is responsible for underwriting and analytics related to Vision’s value-add and opportunistic investment activities.
Previously, he served as an investment analyst with Prudential Real Estate Investors. He also has held positions with PENN Capital Management, and completed an investment/development internship with Grosvenor Americas.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland College Park and an MBA in Real Estate from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Cushman & Wakefield announced that Mark Lauzon, a Senior Director at the firm, has been presented the “Senior Person of the Year 2014” by the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association of New York (YMWREA).
Lauzon, a member of YMWREA since 1992 and a former Chairman in 2000, was chosen to receive the award based on his integrity and professional ethics, his knowledge, ability and accomplishments in the field of real estate and his contribution of time and effort to the Association and to the real estate community.
Lauzon was selected by the YMWREA Board of Governors. Andrew Ackerman, 2014 Chairman of YMWREA, presented the award at December luncheon meeting.
