The Pierson Advisory Group (www.piersonadvisorygroup.com)
Pierson spent a career leading and advising organizations through difficult challenges. With a background in engineering, operations, law, business, and leadership, Pierson not only sees and focuses on the “big picture” but has the knowledge and experience needed to dive deep into the details of issues, which is often where their solutions lie.
As President and CEO of Parsons Brinckerhoff, a 130-year-old global engineering and program management firm with 14,000 employees in 150 worldwide offices and annual revenues of approximately $2.7 billion, Pierson added nearly $1.4 billion of shareholder value, culminating in the sale of Parsons Brinckerhoff at a price nearly three times the value of the firm when he assumed leadership only five years earlier.
Pierson also led a team of experts in crisis response to the firm’s role in Boston’s Central Artery/Tunnel project, known as the “Big Dig,” ultimately negotiating a global resolution of issues with all involved parties.
A frequent speaker on issues facing the infrastructure industry, Pierson has spoken at The Infrastructure Investment Summit hosted by the US Secretary of the Treasury, the Chief Executive Group Roundtable, and the Design Professionals Coalition and has appeared on BNN (Canada) and CNN.
He holds a JD (cum laude) from Harvard Law School, an MBA from St. Mary’s College of California, an MS in civil engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and a BS in civil engineering (summa cum laude) from Bucknell University.
