The Nelson Report – Seth Pinsky on NYC’s affordability crisis

Welcome to the Nelson Report, a new REW video series featuring Cushman & Wakefield Vice Chairman James Nelson.

In this episode, Nelson speaks to Seth Pinsky, the executive vice president of development firm RXR Realty. Pinsky, who is also the former head of the New York City Economic Development Corporation, discusses what the city needs to do to create more affordable housing. He also explains why the current plan doesn’t scratch the surface, and delves into the implications of the pending 421a.

“The real solution to this problem is more development,” he said. “The bottom line is, you cannot be pro-affordability and anti-development.”
