The Durst Organization announced that the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) has a signed 20 year lease for 47,294 s/f on the entire 5th floor and partial 6th floor of 1133 Avenue of the Americas.
The 5th floor includes over 9,000 s/f of column-free double height space with 24 ft. ceiling height and will house a state-of-the-art basketball court.
The NBPA will be relocating their national headquarters from 310 Lenox Avenue, a building it currently owns, to 1133 Avenue of the Americas.

“We are delighted the National Basketball Players Association has chosen The Durst Organization’s 1133 Avenue of the Americas as its new national headquarters,” said Jonathan (Jody) Durst, president of The Durst Organization.
“We are particularly pleased that the NBPA was able to transform the old RCA sound stage into a regulation-sized basketball court. We look forward to a lasting partnership with this exciting new tenant.”
The National Basketball Players Association was represented by Avison Young’s principal Martin J. Cottingham and principal and tri-state president Arthur J. Mirante, II.
The Durst Organization was represented in-house by senior vice president of leasing Tom Bow and vice president of leasing Rocco Romeo.
The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) is the union for current professional basketball players in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Established in 1954, the NBPA mission is to ensure that the rights of NBA players are protected and that every conceivable measure is taken to assist players in maximizing their opportunities and achieving their goals, both on and off the court.
