The New York Public Library’s 58th Street Branch at Jack Resnick & Sons’ signature office tower at 110 East 59th Street has renewed its lease for another 15 years.
The library has been housed in the 600,000 s/f blockthrough Class A office tower since it opened in 1969.
The two-story, 7,750 s/f branch, which also includes a small children’s section, occupies the ground and second floors in the 36-story trophy building.
“The New York Public Library is an important neighborhood asset,” asserted Burt Resnick, chairman and CEO of Jack Resnick & Sons, “so we are delighted to be able to extend their lease for many years to come.”
Dennis P. Brady of Jack Resnick & Sons represented the building ownership in the long-term leasing transaction. Asking rents for retail space at 110 East 59th Street is $200 a square foot.
