Eastern Consolidated has arranged a 1,500 S/F lease at 4 West 19th Street in the Flatiron District for Zuber & Company, the luxury wallpaper and fabric firm that Jackie Kennedy used when she renovated the White House.
Zuber & Company is relocating its New York City flagship store because the building housing it at 200 East 59th Street is being razed as part of a development assemblage.
James Famularo, senior director of the retail leasing division for Eastern Consolidated, exclusively represented the owner, and Michael Azarian, of Cushman & Wakefield, represented Zuber.
“With showrooms in Paris, London, New York, Dubai, Nice, and Moscow, Zuber is the crème de la crème of home decorating,” Famularo said.
“This space at 4 West 19th Street is a perfect fit because it’s centrally located and in the heart of New York City’s furniture district.”
Famularo said he had multiple offers for the ground floor retail space, which features 17-foot high ceilings and is located at the base of a 12-story landmarked residential building just off of Fifth Avenue.
The Zuber factory in Rixheim, France, still hand prints its wallpapers, fabrics, and leathers using traditional woodblocks.
