Extell yesterday (Tuesday) released new renderings of its planned One Hudson Yards tower, a 56-story skyscraper proposed for a site on the edge of the Hudson Yards development.
The new exterior renderings, published on One Hudson Yards’ official website, show a glassy, ground floor retail space and an open courtyard area, as well as a 7 train subway entrance at the base.
Last May, Extell announced it was reviving the stalled project, which had first been announced in 2009 as a partnership with Israel Green to be called the World Product Center. The companies later parted ways. The site, located at the northeast corner of 11th Avenue and 34th Street, will face a new four-acre park and sit behind the entrance to the new Hudson Yards No. 7 subway station.
The tower will be a neighbor to Related Companies’ 12 million s/f Hudson Yards development, for which luxury goods maker Coach has signed on as anchor tenant for the first tower to be built and expected to open in 2015. Extell has tapped Derek Trulson, Frank Doyle and Randy Abend of Jones Lang LaSalle to lease the 1.7 million s/f at One Hudson Yards.
Last May, Extell president Gary Barnett told Real Estate Weekly, “If you looked at a map of the Hudson Yards district, our site is dead center, smack in the middle.
“In addition to great architecture and a superb location, we’re also offering the most competitive rents in the Hudson Yards district.”
