Citi Habitats, a division of The Corcoran Group, today announced it has acquired the assets of David Maund Inc., which does business as aptsandlofts.com and is headquartered in Brooklyn, N.Y.  Founded in 2002, aptsandlofts.com is a leading real estate brokerage, rental and new development marketing firm with a strong presence in the borough.  The company will now operate under the Citi Habitats name.

David Maundrell, founder, owner and president of aptsandlofts.com, will assume the role of Citi Habitats Executive Vice President – Brooklyn and Queens New Development.  In this new position, Maundrell will work with developers to successfully market new residential buildings throughout these two boroughs, which are currently experiencing a boom in new construction.

“Over the course of their 13 years in the business, David Maundrell and his team have developed an authentic Brooklyn brand and established a major presence in the local real estate market,” said Gary Malin, president of Citi Habitats.  “Citi Habitats and aptsandlofts.com share a similar vision for what the combined company can achieve.  Together we will offer greater opportunities for our affiliated agents, as well as a deeper pool of resources and insights for clients.”

Citi Habitats has over 750 affiliated agents and staff members, and is Manhattan’s fourth largest brokerage in terms of agent count.  Founded in 1994, the company is the borough’s leading residential rental brokerage and among New York City’s top ten real estate sales firms.

“I am excited and proud to join one of the premier real estate brands in New York City,” said Maundrell.  “Citi Habitats and aptsandlofts.com share core values and philosophy. Both firms have an unparalleled emphasis on customer service as well as agent training and education. Our reach now encompasses New York City’s most vibrant real estate markets, and that is a significant advantage.”

With a current roster of approximately 110 agents and staff, aptsandlofts.com was named the city’s third largest new development marketing firm by number of exclusive projects in 2014.*  The company currently represents 30 new residential buildings across Brooklyn, as well as in Queens and Manhattan.  Aptsandlofts.com also offers a full suite of services for buyers, sellers and renters of existing homes.

“With the strategic acquisition of aptsandlofts.com, Citi Habitats immediately expands its footprint in Brooklyn, one of New York’s most dynamic markets,” said Pamela Liebman, president and CEO of The Corcoran Group. “It creates a host of new opportunities for Citi Habitats to further develop its business especially in new development sales.  We welcome David Maundrell and his winning team of agents to Citi Habitats and look forward to an exciting future working together as part of The Corcoran Group family. ”
