Avison Young takes another bite out of tri-state

Just days after announcing its New York City expansion into 40,000 s/f at 1166 Avenue of the Americas, Avison Young has signed a new lease for office space in Morristown, NJ, as the firm continues to grow its tri-state presence.

Jeffrey Heller, Avison Young principal and managing director of the firm’s New Jersey office, signed a new, 16,500 s/f office lease in the North Tower of Headquarters Plaza in Morristown.

The lease, which comes just over two years since the firm entered the New Jersey market, doubles the size of Avison Young’s New Jersey office and will accommodate the firm’s future growth.

Avison Young entered the Tri-State market in 2012 and has since established a regional presence, with offices in New Jersey, New York City, Long Island and Fairfield/Westchester.

The company’s new office lease at Headquarters Plaza coincides with announcements that all of the firm’s Tri-State offices have signed leases to expand their local offices to support the firm’s aggressive expansion throughout the region, across the United States and overseas.

Over the past six years, Avison Young has grown from 11 to 62 offices and from 300 to more than 1,700 real estate professionals in Canada, the U.S. and Europe.

“Since entering the New Jersey market, Avison Young has invested significantly in establishing a strong local presence through high-level recruiting and the strategic acquisition of industry-leading companies,” commented Heller.

“With our new office space, all of our New Jersey-based professionals are now able to work together in one location.”

The firm’s own project management team will create an interior build-out for our New Jersey office designed to achieve LEED certification.

Arthur Mirante, Avison Young principal and tri-state president said: “A strong New Jersey presence is critical to the continued growth of our tri-state operations and the development of a regional platform that is able to effectively manage all of our clients’ requirements. We look forward to building on the momentum we have established in New Jersey as we continue to identify new avenues for business growth and further expand our team of brokerage and property services professionals.”

In 2012, Avison Young acquired New Jersey-based project management firm, The Walsh Company.

The acquisition added more than 50 professionals and positioned the firm project management assignments including Panasonic Corporation of North America’s new headquarters in Newark, Commvault’s new headquarters in Tinton Falls, and Wyndham Worldwide’s headquarters addition in Parsippany.
Avison Young acquired Kwartler Associates in 2014, adding another two dozen professionals and millions of square feet of exclusive leasing and management assignments throughout the Tri-State market.
