WHO’S NEWS: NYSAR swears-in new president, Rutenberg adds six agents

Warburg Realty announced that Brennan Zahler has joined the firm’s management team as sales Director for its Tribeca flagship.

Zahler most recently served as sales director of the now shuttered Greenwich Village office of TOWN, and was with Corcoran for over a decade previous to that.

With over a decade of experience in the real estate industry as both a broker and manager, he will lead Warburg’s Tribeca office as it continues to expand in 2016.

Brennan’s new position within Warburg comes on the heels of the firm’s expansion into a larger soon-to-open office at 124 Hudson Street.

Born and raised on the East End of Long Island, Zahler launched his real estate career in 2002 selling waterfront homes, vineyards and farmhouses on the North Fork of Long Island.

In 2003, he followed his passion to New York City where he has built a successful rental and resale business.


Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty named Evangelia (Angie) Boudourakis assistant sales manager for its Syosset/ Muttontown office.

Boudourakis will be working with Syosset/Muttontown sales manager Kathleen Pisani.

Boudourakis is a member of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s Gold Circle of Excellence, which recognizes the highest achieving agents.

She was her Office Listing Leader and Overall Unit Leader from 2012-2014, and earned 2nd Place Overall Unit Leader for all of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s in 2013.

She is fluent in Greek and lives in Queens. She is a graduate of St. John’s University.


Linda Lugo, ABR, CIPS, CRB, CRS, GRI, ITI, SRES, e-Pro, CBR, has taken the oath of office as the 2016 president of the New York State Association of Realtors (NYSAR).

A Realtor for more than 28 years, Lugo is a broker-owner serving the Huntington, NY area.

She is a past president of the Long Island Board of Realtors (LIBOR) and the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island.

Additionally, she has served on or chaired numerous local board committees as well as having served on the board of directors for many years. She was recognized as LIBOR’s Realtor of the Year in 2009.
She has served on the NYSAR Board of Directors for 11 years and currently serves on the Risk Management Committee.

Lugo is also a New York State Department of State certified real estate instructor, who teaches the salesperson licensing course.

Dawn M. Carpenter, CPM of Staten Island, took the oath of office as the 2016 president-elect of the New York State Association of Realtors (NYSAR).

The association’s inauguration ceremony was held in conjunction with its business meetings at The Desmond Hotel and Conference Center in Albany, NY.

She will serve a one-year term in the post.

A Realtor for more than 16 years, Carpenter is the broker-owner of Dawning Real Estate in Staten Island, NY.

She is a past president of the Staten Island Board of Realtors (SIBOR) and chair of the Staten Island Multiple Listing Service.

She has served on or chaired numerous local board committees and served on the board of directors for many years.

She was recognized as SIBOR’s Realtor of the Year in 2008. She also holds memberships in the Brooklyn board, Columbia-Greene board and Greater Capital association.

She is also actively involved in the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).


John Vernazza, BCREP, CBR, e-PRO, Green, GRI, SRES, of Staten Island has taken the oath of office as the 2016 Metropolitan Region vice president of the New York State Association of Realtors (NYSAR).

Vernazza, a Realtor for 15 years, is the owner of Vernazza Real Estate in Staten Island, NY.

He is an active member and 2009 past president of the Staten Island Board of Realtors (SIBOR), having served as chair of several committees. He was named SIBOR’s 2010 Realtor of the Year.

Vernazza is an active member of NYSAR, serving as a director since 2008. He has also served on numerous committees and is a past member of the NYSAR Realtors Honor Society.

He has served as a director for the National Association of Realtors(NAR) and on the NAR Conventional Finance and Lending Committee. Vernazza has also served as a Federal Political Coordinator for New York’s 11th Congressional District on behalf of NAR.


The Corcoran Group announced that Rado Varchola has joined the firm’s SoHo office.

With two decades of experience in the industry, Varchola has received numerous awards and accolades.
His market knowledge and experience as an agent, real estate investor, landlord and homeowner enables Varchola to excel in all aspects of the real estate business.

He specializes in the luxury sector of condo, co-op and townhouse sales and luxury rentals throughout Manhattan, with a focus on the Downtown market.

Varchola was most recently affiliated with the Town Residential firm.

He is originally from Slovakia, where he studied at the University of Economics before moving to New York City in 1992.

In addition to English, he is fluent in Slovak, Czech, German and Russian.


Charles Rutenberg announced the hiring of six New York City real estate agents.

Ian Tabbal, a native New Yorker joined Rutenberg from Keller Williams NYC.

He has developed an encyclopedic knowledge of New York real estate and uses it to his clients’ advantage.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree from New York University.

Matthew Soal, a seasoned real estate agent with more than 20 years’ experience, previously worked at Nest Seekers where he exemplified exceptional customer service to his clients.

In addition to his New York license, Soal currently holds his license as a broker in Florida.

Claudet Braddy, a native New Yorker, joined Rutenberg from Fillmore Real Estate in Brooklyn, specializing in the boroughs real estate market.

Braddy is a member of REBNY and holds a M.S. from Touro College and a B.A. from Kenessaw University.
Erin Eber is a seasoned broker with over 10 years of industry experience specializing in residential real estate in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Eber’s success comes from her understanding of the nuances and complexities of the New York City marketplace.

Salma Chaudhry came to Rutenberg from BH Realty LLC with experience helping clients find the ideal home and the right investment property.

A Manhattan real estate investor and UWS resident for over 40 years, Chaudhry approaches clients’ specific real estate needs with care, creativity and professionalism.

Cynthia Brown is a lifelong real estate investor and developer, previously working at Keller Williams.
Brown has lived in all of the boroughs of New York, giving her a vast knowledge of the areas.

Her focus is on providing excellent service to her clients, ensuring their goals and needs are met.


Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty named industry veteran Karen Morrison sales manager for its Port Washington office.

Morrison is both a longtime resident of Port Washington and proven manager of real estate professionals with more than 35 years in the industry.

She has helped to build real estate offices from scratch to success, and said Daniel Gale Sotheby’s offers her the “local agency feeling with the tools and global reach of a real estate powerhouse.ˮ


Sorgente Group of America announced the appointment of Olivia Robertson as Leasing & Acquisitions Manager.

Robertson will identify and negotiate potential investment opportunities for Sorgente and lease properties owned by the company.

She joins the firm with over three years of experience at Nest Seekers International, where she worked with Ryan Serhant.

Most recently, she was in charge of a $120 million real estate portfolio in Brooklyn. Her work allowed her to grow through the ranks as her team’s top promoter.
