Arnold Gamberg, formerly of Murray Hill Properties, has joined EVO Real Estate Group as an executive managing director, according to Dana Moskowitz, president of the firm.
Gamberg will operate directly under the firm’s four principals as part of its senior management. His responsibilities include developing the firm’s promotional brokerage, leading a team of associates, building relationships with investment groups and equity funds, and assisting with acquisitions.
Gamberg was at Murray Hill Properties for ten years. Over the course of his career, he has been responsible for over three-million square feet of leasing transactions, working with diverse and notable businesses including Herzfield & Rubin; Holtzmann, Wise & Shepard; CW Capital; Haddad Industries; Gleecher & Co. and Sumitomo Life Insurance & Trust.
He has also represented the ownership of such prestigious properties as The Manhattan Mall (at 100 West 33rd Street), 660 Madison Avenue, 1450 Broadway and 80 Fifth Avenue.
Formerly doing business as Winoker Realty, EVO Real Estate Group was acquired in February of 2013 by a partnership of CEO Ira Z. Fishman and president Dana L. Moskowitz, formerly of ID Real Estate Partners, and principals Josh and Nathan Halegua of Jonis Realty and Citi-Urban Management.

Theresa Morzello has been named as the new property manager at 650 Fifth Avenue, the 36-story, 382,500 s/f office building in the Plaza District on 52nd Street.
Dr. Houshang Ahmadi, president of the not-for-profit Alavi Foundation, the majority owner and managing partner of 650 Fifth Avenue Company, made the announcement.
Prior to joining 650 Fifth Avenue, Morzello served as a general manager for Cushman and Wakefield Inc. for their New York Presbyterian Hospital/ Royal Charter properties.
Before her time at Cushman and Wakefield Inc., she worked as a property manager at 112 West 34th St a 750,000 s/f commercial office building in Midtown Manhattan.
Morzello holds a bachelor’s of science degree from Loyola College.

DTZ has hired Joyce F. Geiger as senior vice president of Transaction Advisory Services.
Geiger has more than 30 years of market research, business development and real estate consulting experience.
Before launching her own consulting business, she was a senior manager at First Service Williams, (predecessor to Colliers New York), where her area of responsibility was real estate analytics, marketing/graphics and client consulting services.
As a senior vice president at Studley, she managed the national research staff and provided custom research and consulting services. Geiger was also the managing director of Research Services for Insignia.
She founded two real estate information companies. REITrac was sold in 1994 to Dow Jones & Co (Teleris). AssetTrac, a REITtracking firm, was sold in 1998 to a division of Lloyds of London.
In addition, Joyce was a senior managing director at Deloitte & Touche Real Estate Consulting Services.
Geiger holds a B.A. in economics and qualitative research from Rutgers University as well as an MBA in investment finance from the Rutgers Graduate School of Management.

Stark & Stark announced Jerry A. Nelson has joined as a new partner in its commercial real estate practice.
Nelson has extensive executive-level experience in helping clients lease, manage, acquire, develop, improve, remediate and sell retail, office and industrial properties.
Prior to joining Stark & Stark, Nelson advised and represented Levin Management Corporation for more than 21 years as in-house counsel and general counsel.
He is admitted to the bar in New Jersey and New York. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and holds a J.D. from Albany Law School and a B.S. from Cornell University.

Derrick D. Cephas has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Housing Partnership Development Corporation.
Cephas is a partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP, where he heads the law firm’s Financial Institutions Regulatory practice group and is a member of its Financial Regulatory Reform Working Group.
He served as the New York State Superintendent of Banks from 1991 to 1994.
Prior to joining Weil, Gotshal, Cephas served as president and CEO of Amalgamated Bank. Earlier, he was a banking and corporate law partner at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft.
He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Dime Savings Bank of New York, Merrill Lynch International Bank and D.E. Shaw & Co. Inc.
He is currently a director of the Fresh Air Fund, Empire State Development Corporation, the New York Public Asset Fund and Trevor Day School.
Cephas graduated from Harvard College in 1975 and from Harvard Law School in 1979.

Dawn Bergren has joined Cushman & Wakefield, Inc.’s Corporate Occupier Services (CIS) practice in East Rutherford as a project manager.
Bergren comes to Cushman & Wakefield with 12 years of experience on more than $75 million worth of commercial real estate projects.
Her expertise covers the full range of project and construction management services. She previously worked as a project manager for Jeffrey M. Brown Associates and Damon G. Douglas Company.
During her tenure at these companies, she completed work for Mack-Cali Realty, CNBC, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, MONY Life Insurance Co. and Novartis Pharmaceuticals, among many others.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Fairleigh Dickenson University.

Prior to joining Eastern, Malekan was president and principal of Austin, Texas-based KDR Equities where he was responsible for negotiating, marketing and managing the purchase of an 850,000 s/f mixed-use site.
Before that, as an accomplished chef and restaurateur, he founded and operated San Marzano, a restaurant that boasted multiple locations, including Manhattan and Merrick, Long Island.
Earlier, Malekan held positions with Roseland, NJ-based Lowensterin Sandler PC in the company’s Insurance Litigation Group, and Goldman Sachs, where he worked as a programmer analyst in the company’s Fixed Income Group.

Onyx Equities, LLC, announced that Daniel J. Venn has been named vice president of asset management/investments.
Prior to joining Onyx, Venn served as an underwriter on the Acquisitions team at Invesco Real Estate.
Venn has also served as an associate in the Acquisitions and Asset Managment department of Urdang Capital Management in Philadelphia. He performed the underwriting, analysis, due diligence and closing of multiple transactions with a combined valued of more than $450 million, and underwrote the acquisition of a $1.1 billion high-yield real estate debt fund.
Currently enrolled in a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program, Venn is a Level III CFA candidate. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pa.

Avison Young has hired David Krasnoff as a senior vice president in the firm’s New York Capital Markets Group.
Krasnoff has over 10 years of commercial real estate experience and has executed transactions valued at over $3.0 billion.
Before joining Avison Young, he sourced and executed deals for Jones Lang LaSalle’s Real Estate Investment Banking Group in New York City where he worked on numerous financings.
Before that, he worked for JLL’s Investment Sales Group where he was involved with all aspects of the sales process for institutional office transactions, including new business development, structuring, financial analysis, underwriting, contract negotiation and closing.
Krasnoff received his M.S. in Real Estate Finance from New York University and his B.A. from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Avison Young’s New Jersey office has hired several office and industrial real estate professionals with diverse career experience.
The new hires include Bart Oates and Thomas Semler, who have joined Avison Young as senior vice presidents, based in the firm’s office in Morristown, N.J.
Additionally, Matthew Turse and Brian Cass have also joined Avison Young as vice presidents in New Jersey.
Bart Oates will be responsible for client development, tenant and landlord representation, transactions and execution, as well as talent recruitment.
He most recently served as counsel to the firm of Koski & Associates and was a partner in the title insurance company, All Pro Title.
A three-time Super Bowl Champion, twice with the New York Giants and once with the San Francisco 49ers during his time with the NFL, Oates’ previous positions also include having served as a real estate broker for Gale and Wentworth as well as Cohen Real Estate.
He earned his law degree from Seton Hall Law School.
Thomas Semler has joined Avison Young to focus on the representation of clients in the acquisition and disposition of corporate facilities, as well as agency representation and lease negotiations.
Semler most recently served as principal of Cresa and before that as senior director of Cushman & Wakefield.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in economics from Georgetown University.
Matthew Turse was previously with Cassidy Turley in New Jersey, where he negotiated more than 6.5 million square feet of sales and leases exceeding $277 million.
Brian Cass, who has 16 years of corporate real estate experience, was most recently a vice president with Jones Lang LaSalle in New Jersey.

Phillips Nizer LLP has elected Brian J. Beller and Carl D. LeSueur to the position of counsel in the Real Estate Law and Litigation Departments. Both were previously associates.
Brian Beller, who practices in commercial and residential transactions, joined the firm in 2007.

J. Scott Robinson, MAI, SRA, of Salisbury, N.C., has been elected 2014 vice president of the nation’s largest professional association of real estate appraisers.
Robinson’s one-year term at the Appraisal Institute will begin Jan. 1, followed by one year each as president-elect, president and immediate past president.
Robinson has been active in real property appraisal and consulting since 1987.
He joined the Appraisal Institute as a candidtae for SRA in 1987 and has served in all offices for the North Carolina Chapter and has been active at the regional and national levels since 1991.
Robinson received a B.A. degree from Wake Forest University in 1981.
