Handler Real Estate Organization announced that it has arranged a long-term, 16,835-square-foot renewal on behalf of law firm Wachtel Missry LLP, which will continue to lease the entire 47th floor at 885 Second Avenue.
Founded more than 30 years ago, Wachtel Missry is a full-service law firm that represents public companies, major not-for-profit institutions, real estate owners and developers, and corporate entrepreneurs and executives. Practice areas include real estate, litigation, corporate and securities, licensing and entertainment, construction law, white collar criminal matters, and matrimonial law.
Spanning the entire block of 47th to 48th Street, the 50-story, approximately 800,000-square-foot, Class A office tower — also known as One Dag Hammarskjold Plaza — is just steps from the United Nations and a short walk from Grand Central Station.
“Wachtel Missry is a prestigious law firm that wanted to remain in its elegant, Class A space, located in one of Midtown’s prime office districts,” said Handler Principal and CEO Scott Galin, who along with Director Darell Handler represented the tenant in the transaction. “The recent building renovations and spectacular views helped make their renewal an easy decision.”
“We were extremely pleased with Handler’s dedication, understanding of the marketplace and creativity in facilitating our lease renewal,” said Wachtel Missry Partner Morris Missry. “We are also thankful for Ruben Companies’ professionalism and are excited about spending another 10 years with a great landlord.”
Owned and managed by Ruben Companies, One Dag Hammarskjold Plaza recently underwent a major capital improvement program, including a renovated building entrance, lobby, and elevators, and includes efficient side-core floor plates, expansive window lines, and unobstructed views of Midtown, the East River and beyond.
