Project team members from developer Extell, AECOM’s Tishman Construction Corporation, and architectural/engineering firms, along with hundreds of construction trades workers, celebrated the topping out of Extell’s cutting-edge International Gem Tower (IGT) on West 47th Street, in the city’s famed Diamond District. Extell president Gary Barnett, senior vice president Raizy Haas and executive vice president David Rothstein, along with Daniel R. Tishman, chairman and CEO of Tishman Construction Corporation and vice chairman of AECOM Technology Corp., and John T. Livingston, president of Tishman Construction Corporation and chief executive of construction services for AECOM Technology Corp., were in attendance. The tower is expected to be completed by year-end and the building to be fully operational by mid-2013.
