15CPW: Still got it

New buildings may be popping up across the city, but the Zeckendorf-developed 15 Central Park West has still got what it takes to attract record numbers.
Veteran broker Noel Berk, of boutique brokerage Mercedes Berk, just closed on the highest ever dollars-per-square foot for a non-parkview apartment.
Apartment 7K, a 1,026 s/f one-bedroom, 1.5-bath with city views sold for $5.205 million after just four weeks on the market at an asking price of $4.995 million.
City view apartments in the building had been averaging around $3,300 s/f with park view homes selling for well over $7,000 psf.
“There’s a lot of western light coming into the apartment,” said Berk, who represented the seller. “I think that’s its greatest feature.” Opened in 2008 after a $950 million redevelopment designed by architect Robert A.M. Stern, 15 CPW is considered on the of premier addresses in the city.
Famous residents have included Denzel Washington, Sting and Alex Rodriguez and amenities in the limestone buildings include a private driveway that prevent paparazzi getting too close.
