CoreNet Global a premiere commercial RE association

CoreNet Global New York City Chapter’s mission is to advance innovation and professional development for the corporate real estate sector, and to serve as a thought leader and forum for current industry issues.

The organization’s more than 800 members represent corporate end-users and service providers from New York’s largest publicly-held companies at the forefront of real estate planning, development and innovation, including Fortune 500 companies generating over $1 billion in annual revenue.

In 2014, CoreNet Global New York City Chapter, the largest chapter in CoreNet Global, aims to engage our members to foster increased connectivity between people and people, people and ideas and people and resources in order to innovate for value and output.

In recent months, CoreNet NYC has hosted a number of events drawing high-level professionals from across the real estate industry. CoreNet NYC’s Sustainability Community addressed “green” issues such as the impact of the New LEEDv4 System and energy efficiency as it affects the future of the New York grid. CoreNet_opt

Young Leader members and guests gathered to learn from top entrepreneurs in the NYC marketplace as they discussed their generation’s role as “the disruptors” and also enjoyed an after-hours tour of the Google New York offices.

Attendees were encouraged to “BYOD” (Bring Your Own Device) to a workshop designed to educate members on latest mobile devices, platforms and tools designed to help corporate real estate professionals become more productive and better informed.

At a dynamic panel discussion event titled “Is Transformation the New Normal?,” CoreNet NYC explored how significant business decisions are being made with increasing speed and velocity, including business transformation activities such as merger integration and business divestiture, resulting in a continuously changing business landscape.

Panelists took a look at how corporate real estate executives must respond to this “New Normal” by reorganizing and reinventing assets to accommodate these ever-changing business objectives and strategies.

Over 150 CoreNet NYC members gathered at an exclusive peek into One World Trade Center and for a “State of the Chapter” Annual Meeting and Volunteer Appreciation Reception on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Speakers for the Annual Meeting included Leadership representatives from both CoreNet Global and the NYC Chapter.

CoreNet NYC is the first CoreNet Global Chapter to launch a new ‘Meetup’ initiative where members and potential members alike are invited to go to at a determined location for an informal ‘Meet & Greet.’ Due to this initiative, CoreNet NYC has gained several new members.

CoreNet NYC is gearing up for its Annual Golf Outing in Purchase, NY on August 11, 2014. The event is always well attended by companies throughout the industry, and this year proceeds from the outing will go to Salvadori Center, an organization that shows students the significance of math and science using the buildings, bridges, landmarks and parks in their local communities.

On the horizon for the chapter are other exciting events such as exclusive events for CoreNet members and events open to industry professionals, including a networking receptions and a November panel to host author and columnist, Arianna Huffington.
