The Moinian Group and Bushburg Properties announced that the company has leased a total of 45,000 s/f to Friends of Ascend Charter Schools to serve as the home for Lefferts Gardens Ascend Lower School.

The Brooklyn-based charter school network, currently serving 5,500 K-12 students across 15 schools in Brooklyn, will expand its portfolio to Moinian’s PLG, the company’s new luxury residential tower located at 123 Linden Boulevard in Brooklyn.

Jack Mordekai represented The Moinian Group and William P. O’Brien, SIOR of M.C. O’Brien, Inc. represented Ascend in the deal.

“The Moinian Group is pleased to provide Ascend Public Charter Schools with a prime academic space in this dynamic Brooklyn neighborhood,” said Joseph Moinian, founder and CEO of The Moinian Group.

“We feel confident that this space will provide a high-quality learning environment that meets all the needs of this high-achieving charter network and its students.”

Situated at the nexus of the Brooklyn’s Prospect Lefferts Gardens and Flatbush neighborhoods, PLG marks The Moinian Group’s first development in Brooklyn.

Co-developed with Bushburg Properties and designed by Hill West Architects and Whitehall Interiors, PLG rises 229 feet and offers expansive views of Downtown Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Verrazano Bridge.

PLG has 467 studio to three-bedroom apartments and 50,000 s/f of amenities including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, indoor and outdoor fitness centers, a sauna and steam room, lounge, co-working lounge and more.
