Fashion retailer Burberry will be joining Michael Kors in the retail plaza in Lower Manhattan’s Brookfield Place, Dennis Friedrich, CEO of Brookfield Properties, announced Friday.
Brookfield is rebranding the World Financial Center under the new name Brookfield Place, and will soon begin a $250 million renovation of the complex’s retail space.
The company has increased its expected net operating income from the retail portion of Brookfield Place to $17 million, Friedrich said during the company’s quarterly conference call.
Joan Siegel of Siegel Consultants represented Burberry in negotiations with Brookfield, which was represented by Kira Meers of the McDevitt Company.
The grand opening of the complex’s new waterfront dining, marketplace and fashion corridor is scheduled for spring 2014.
