Wiener celebrating 40 years at Kislak

Forty years ago, respect for family, commitment to hard work and an outgoing personality led Jeffrey Wiener to The Kislak Company – and he never left.

This week, Wiener was recognized for his outstanding dedication, contributions and service.

“Jeff has the wisdom to value the past and the acuity to embrace the future,” said Jay I. Kislak, chairman of The Kislak Organization.

“I have always admired his warm way with clients and colleagues, and his ability to seize opportunities. The Kislak Company’s success is directly related to his success, and I congratulate and thank Jeff for an extraordinary four decades.”

It all began back in 1973 with a nudge from Wiener’s father, Benjamin.

“My father taught me that hard work and honesty are the roads to success,” said Wiener. “He had great admiration for The Kislak Company and encouraged me to apply there. I took his advice and, as usual, he was right. It turned out to be a great match.”

Wiener’s talents were recognized and he moved up through the ranks.

In 1995, he was appointed president and managing director of The Kislak Company, a post he held for 16 years while continuing to work directly with clients. During that time, he was often the company’s #1 salesperson.

Since joining Kislak, Wiener has sold more than 200 apartment buildings, shopping centers and office buildings and has the distinction of having sold more apartment buildings in New Jersey than any other broker.

His multifamily transactions total more than $2 billion.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University and is a member of the National Multi Housing Council, the New Jersey Apartment Association, the Apartment Association of Greater Philadelphia and the International Council of Shopping Centers. He is a licensed real estate broker in New Jersey.

Although Wiener made the decision to step down from most of his administrative duties in 2011, retirement is not on his agenda.

He relishes the role of senior salesperson, and is co-managing director with current Kislak Company president, Robert Holland.

In his new role, Wiener does have more time for family, tennis and Scrabble, but continues to devote most of his days and energy to work.
“I still love closing a deal and knowing I have done well by my clients,” Wiener said. “I am having a great time.”
