JLL has announced Caroline Gadaleta will lead the firm’s property management business in the New York Tri-State region. Based in New York City, Gadaleta will oversee strategy and operations of the firm’s 13.5 million s/f portfolio in the region. She will report to JLL New York City and Tri-State Market Director Stephen Schlegel.Gadaleta replaces Managing Director Linda Aronson, who will be retiring after spending 37 years at JLL.
Gadaleta previously served as a JLL global account director where she oversaw 160 professionals and an integrated facilities management portfolio of 2.5 million s/f throughout of the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific. She previously led accounts for Diageo and Avon and oversaw the Midtown portfolio of a leading bank.
Prior to joining JLL, Gadaleta spent time at LaSalle Partners and Primedia Inc. Gadaleta graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Wesleyan University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance/Real Estate from Columbia Business School.
HR&A Advisors, a consulting firm, announced that current firm president Eric Rothman has become chief executive officer on January 1. John Alschuler, who founded the firm and has served as chairman, will remain an active partner and chair of HR&A’s board of directors. HR&A’s Vice Chairman Candace Damon will remain an active Partner and lead the HR&A Board’s oversight of business strategy.
Rothman joined HR&A 22 years ago and brings decades of experience in providing economic development and public-private real estate development consulting, servicing governmental entities, and advising on transportation and public finance projects. He has led the firm’s efforts on the PlaNYC 2030 sustainability strategy for New York, supported major redevelopment efforts for the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.; Union Depot in Saint Paul, Minnesota; and the district adjacent to 30th Street Station in Philadelphia.
Prior to joining HR&A, Rothman served as director of business planning for transport for London. He currently serves as board chair for the Design Trust for Public Space, vice chair of the Urban Land Institute’s national Public-Private Partnership Council, and Board Treasurer for KaBOOM!
UMH Properties has welcomed James O. Lykins as a vice president of capital markets, effective January 15.
Previously, Lykins was an analyst at D.A. Davidson & Co. from 2015-2019 where he covered the REIT sector. Prior to that beginning in 2014, he was the acquisitions manager at Whitestone REIT. He was at Hilliard Lyons from 2000-2014, including 12 years in Equity Research and two years in Investment Banking. Lykins graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.B.A. in Finance and received his MBA from Bellarmine University.
Ware Malcomb design firm has announced Tiffany English, principal of Ware Malcomb’s San Diego offices, will serve as president-elect of the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network for 2020 and President in 2021. In this global role, English will represent the membership of the business network dedicated to transforming the commercial real estate industry by advancing women globally. English was named to the post at the recent CREW Network Convention and Marketplace in Orlando, Florida.
English has been a member of the CREW Network since 2003 and most recently served on the Global Board of Directors. She has also served as a member of the Education Committee (2017), Industry Research Committee (2015), UCREW Committee (2013, 2014), and as president of the San Diego Chapter (2012, 2013).
English has more than 23 years of industry experience in commercial real estate design. She has overseen, designed and managed over five million s/f of projects for commercial real estate and Fortune 500 clients, ranging from small tenant improvements to large full-service build-to-suit projects. She is also experienced in national account management.

Christopher Carty, a partner in the Finance Litigation & Restructuring Group, focuses his practice on complex financial litigation, with a concentration in corporate financial restructuring litigation. His practice frequently involves complex litigation, involving valuation disputes, litigation related to capital markets, lender/creditor litigation, capital structure disputes, M&A litigation, disputes among LLC members, exchange offer litigation, and fraudulent transfer litigation.
Leah Kelman, a partner in the Litigation Department, concentrates her practice on complex commercial litigation, including class action defense, title insurance, and professional responsibility, ethics and risk management. The Hudson Companies has announced that Jorge L. Jorge will become president of Lisa Management, Hudson’s property management affiliate. Jorge previously served as Lisa’s director of leasing and sales.
Jorge joined Lisa Management in 2011, starting with the company as director of leasing and sales, becoming vice president of marketing in 2018, where he managed the ongoing leasing of market rate, affordable and middle-income apartments in multifamily developments. In February, Jorge took over as the interim president of the company. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in accounting from St. John’s University. Jorge was a fellow in the Coro Foundation’s Leadership New York program.
Under Jorge’s leadership, Lisa Management is entering the affordable leasing industry, starting with 350 Clarkson Avenue. The project is an eight-story mixed-use building with 250 units of market-rate housing.
Title Alliance, Ltd, the management company of a network of title insurance and escrow agencies, has appointed Joe Rose as its new chairman.
As head of the board of directors at Title Alliance, Rose will focus on setting long-term goals and implementing strategic moves to maximize profitability and protect investor interests.
Rose has worked in a number of IT business startups, most recently as president and co-founder of Turnberry Solutions, Inc., which he started in 2000. Rose is also a two-time recipient of the SmartCEO Future 50 Award.
Rose replaces Bill Cotter, who served as chairman of the board since 2007.
Zetlin & De Chiara LLP Associate Max Rayetsky has been named to the Advisory Board of the Mattone Family Institute for Real Estate Law at his alma mater, St. John’s University School of Law. He was also selected as an inaugural member of its Emerging Leaders Committee.
Rayetsky represents real estate owners, developers, design professionals, contractors and other members of the construction industry in litigation and transactional matters. In his practice, he prosecutes and defends mechanic’s lien claims, extra work and contract balance claims, delay and consequential damages claims, wrongful termination and termination for convenience claims, as well as other types of cases arising in a construction dispute. Fernando Murillo has over 30 years of experience in corporate real estate across multiple service platforms including Tenant Representation, Portfolio Solutions, Location Strategy, and Agency Leasing. He has built relationships spanning over 20 years with occupiers ranging from foreign governments to real estate developers.
Murillo has represented many notable clients in lease transactions in the greater New York City area such as Xerox, Fiat Chrysler Automobile, Alorica and Humana.
He began his real estate career at Edward S. Gordon and prior to joining MHP, he served as a senior vice president at Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. for 20 years.
Murillo graduated from NYU Stern School of Business with an MBA in accounting and from Syracuse University, Whitman School of Management with a Bachelor of Science in finance and information systems. He serves as the vice chair of the New York Chapter of International Association of Outsourcing Professionals, (“IAOP”) and a board member of the Kiwanis Club of Weston, CT.
