Thor Equities has selected Richard Farley to lead its office leasing department.
Farley joins the firm as vice president of office leasing at a time when Thor Equities is expanding its New York City portfolio.
Farley previously served as the executive managing director and director of leasing at ABS Partners Real Estate. Before ABS, he was an executive vice president of RFR Realty.
During his twelve years at RFR, Farley managed a six milion square feet portfolio of properties and negotiated over 300 leases annually with a value of more than $450 million.
He was also instrumental in the redevelopment and repositioning of 160 Fifth Avenue, leasing 90 percent of the building with 18 months.

R.E.M. Residential has appointed three new senior executives to expand its range of services.
The new executives are Maria Guzman, senior asset manager; Rashaad Middleton, property manager; and Tye Moody, associate director of leasing.
Maria Guzman brings seven years of experience working with low-income housing tax credit buildings, and is a Certified Credit Compliance Professional (C3P) for low-income housing tax credits.
She previously worked as a financial risk manager for a brokerage company in her native Colombia, before relocating to New York City in 2004, where she continued her career in residential real estate.
Guzman holds a B.S. in economics and finance from Universidad del Valle in Colombia and Queens College of the City University of New York.
Rashaad Middleton is a graduate of New York University. His experience includes five years of residential real estate sales, a history in the customer service business, concentrating on customer service management, and a degree in sociology.
Tye Moody had been working independently for R.E.M. for several years, and the firm’s growing volume of business resulted in a decision to offer him a position in-house.
A Sarah Lawrence College alumnus, Moody began his career in apartment rentals in 2006, organizing listings and contacts for Rockledge Partners. In 2011, he set out on his own, founding Tye Moody Real Estate, a firm that served as exclusive agent to Rockledge.

The Deputy Commissioner and General Counsel to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), Steven Russo, will be joining the international law firm Greenberg Traurig as chair of the New York Environmental Practice at the end of March.
Russo supervised the NYSDEC’s Office of General Counsel, as well as the Legislative Affairs Department and Office of Environmental Justice.
He spearheaded the environmental review relating to natural gas drilling using high-volume hydraulic fracturing and led the Department’s drafting of Article 10 power plant siting regulations governing environmental justice and carbon dioxide emissions.
Russo was a partner at Sive Paget & Riesel from 1995 to 2011. He served as Deputy Assistant Chief of the Environmental Law Division of the New York City Corporation Counsel’s office from 1992 to 1995. He was a litigation associate at Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler from 1989 to 1992.
Russo holds a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and a B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany.

Bryan Cave LLP announced that Sonia Kaur Bain has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner within the Real Estate Group.
Bain has nearly 20 years of experience representing developers in all types of real estate transactions.
She has a focus on commercial real estate, handling the preparation and negotiation of leases, purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, transactions in the hotel, retail, development and office sectors, condominium offering plans, property management and leasing agreements, easement and restriction agreements, and development agreements. She also handles acquisitions dispositions, financings and building conversions including residential, commercial and mixed-use properties.
She received her J.D. from New York Law School in 1994 and her B.A. from Stony Brook University in 1991.

Moss attended Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. While there, he served as an Off-Campus Representative and the Sergeant At Arms for the Wesleyan Counsel on Student Affairs.
Prior to Massey Knakal, Hunter served as an intern to the president and CEO of Ruckus Marketing and as an intern in the online marketing department of The College Board in New York City.

Earlier, he served as an associate at Lee & Associates in Irvine, California, and at Hughes Marino in San Diego, California. He was also a leasing administrator at Lyon Management Group, Inc.

Jones Lang LaSalle announced that structured finance specialist John Scott has joined the firm as executive vice president.
In his new role, Scott will work closely with Tom Beneville, international director, and the Structured Finance team, focusing on equity raising, joint ventures and other private real estate fund opportunities for institutional clients in New York and across the United States.
Scott comes to Jones Lang LaSalle from the firm’s London office, where he worked with teams in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Gulf region to service a global client base of institutional property fund investors and fund managers.
He earned his M.B.A. from Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge and his bachelor’s degree from Nottingham University. He is a registered Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
In addition to Jones Lang LaSalle’s London office, Scott held leadership positions at SLK Global Markets Ltd. and Goldman Sachs International.

HKS Capital Partners LLC announced the hiring of John Richard Chantengco as associate broker where he will focus on all aspects of commercial finance for his clients.
Chantengco has been in the mortgage and real estate industry since 1990, serving as a loan originator, broker, consultant and principal. He started his career working for Wells Fargo Bank, and later, as an associate broker for CB Richard Ellis.
Chantengco spent most of his career as senior advisor at the Triwest Financial Group, Inc. He was also a managing director at Keller Williams Commercial.
In 2000, he was selected as a Eureka Fellow in Washington, D.C. on his contributions to economic development and affordable housing.
Chantengco completed his postgraduate studies at the Advanced Management College at the Stanford Business School after earning an MBA Degree with distinction from the University of Phoenix’s Sperling School of Business and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California San Diego.

CBRE Group, Inc. announced that Jennifer Ashley will assume the leadership role for the company’s Human Resources operations in the Americas.
Ashley, currently head of marketing, Americas, will assume her new position as senior vice president, Human Resources, in April.
Ashley currently directs all marketing strategy and operations in the United States, Latin America and Canada, leading a group that includes 100 marketing and communications professionals across all lines of business in the CBRE services platform.
Prior to that position she led CBRE’s Enterprise Management Group. Before that, Ashley was a senior member of CBRE’s Human Resources team.
Before joining CBRE, she was senior director of sales, marketing and service, as well as director of human resources, sales and marketing, at SBS Internationaly.
Ashley began her professional career at Andersen Consulting, and at the Chief Executive Leadership Institute.
She has a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology, Emory University; a Master of Science in Psychology, Hunter College; and a Bachelor of Science, University of Michigan.

Daniela Zustovich of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank has been appointed building manager of W&H Properties’ 1400 Broadway, announced Anthony Malkin, president of Malkin Holdings, which supervises the W&H portfolio.
Previously, Zustovich served as building manager at W&H’s 1359 Broadway, and was also the assistant portfolio manager for W&H’s 1333, 1350 and 1359 Broadway.
Zustovich received a BBA in finance and accounting from Baruch College. She holds BOMA Real Property Administrator and Facilities Management Administrator designations and a LEED Green Associate credential.
