WHO’S NEWS: Latest appointments, promotions

Romer Debbas, LLP, announced that Sarah Tadros Awad, Esq. and Sheila Arjomandi, Esq. have joined the firm.
Sarah Tadros Awad is a senior associate in the firm’s residential real estate department and supports the firm’s active transactional real estate practice.
Tadros Awad specializes in assisting buyers, sellers and lending institutions involved in residential real estate transactions.
She is a graduate of the University of Toronto and received a Juris Doctorate degree from New York Law School in 2012.
In addition to residential real estate, she has extensive experience handling corporate matters related to real estate as well as various litigation matters.

Joining the firm as an associate attorney in the commercial real estate department, Sheila Arjomandi primarily focuses on representing commercial lenders in real estate finance transactions throughout the country. She has extensive experience in handling acquisition, sale and leasing transactions for both institutional and individual clients.
Arjomandi became a member of the New York bar in 2018. She is a graduate from the University of South Florida and received her Juris Doctorate degree from Pace University School of Law.
Prior to joining the firm, Arjomandi was in-house counsel for a real estate company specializing in real estate development and financing.

Marcus & Millichap has named Evan Denner executive vice president and head of business of the firm’s financing subsidiary, Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation (MMCC).
Denner’s nearly 30-year tenure in the commercial real estate industry includes 23 years of capital markets and financing experience. Since 2019, he has served as Marcus & Millichap’s head of corporate strategy and played a key role in the firm’s recent additions of Metropolitan Capital, Mission Capital and LMI to the MMCC platform. Denner’s experience includes a leadership position at Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group, CEO of the U.S. arm of Hypo Real Estate Capital Corporation and head of merchant banking at Cantor Fitzgerald, where he helped execute several acquisitions that established Newmark as a public real estate services firm.
He also co-founded mortgage REIT Quadra Realty Trust (QRR: NYSE), where he served as the company’s CEO.

In addition, Paul Lewis has been appointed to the newly created position of senior vice president, director of agency programs, as part of the company’s plan to expand its multifamily agency lending capabilities.
Lewis spent nearly 20 years at Fannie Mae where he rose to the top ranks. Highlights of his accomplishments include the structuring of $50 billion of multifamily financings with no attributed credit loss, designing key multifamily programs, and implementing changes to Fannie Mae’s counterparty risk functions. Lewis will report to Denner.

NAI DiLeo-Bram & Co. announced that Alex Tseng has joined its team as an associate vice president.
Tseng will be specialize in representing industrial property owners in central and northern New Jersey with an emphasis on the ports.
For the past four years, Tseng was a director of investment sales at JET Real Estate. He has been active in the multifamily, industrial, office and property management sectors. Concurrently while working with JET, he was a director at STREETSEED, where he was responsible for purchasing undervalued and poorly managed multifamily properties and improving them to become more desirable for tenants, as well as increasing property values for the property owners.
He also utilized his design capabilities at CAZA, an architectural firm, where he served as a project manager leading design teams for studies of large-scale mixed-use development projects and resort communities.
Tseng holds a B.A. in Architecture from Rice University and is a licensed Architect in NY, and a licensed real estate salesperson in NY and NJ.

Hyperion Group announced that Jordan Thaler has joined the firm as vice president of acquisitions.
With 10 years of experience working for some of the top real estate companies, was previously at Silverstein Properties, where he helped lead the company’s venture to acquire and develop multifamily residential properties in opportunity zones.
He had previously spent four years at SL Green Realty Corp. where he plaid a key role in One Vanderbilt, a $3.2 billion, 1.7 million square foot ground up office development.
Prior to Silverstein Properties, he was vice president of acquisitions at APF Properties where he led acquisition of 183 Madison Avenue.
Thaler graduated from Vassar College in 2010 and received a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University in 2014.

Avison Young New Jersey announced that veteran project management professionals Alan Zambarano and Mandy Jaust have joined the firm.
Zambarano and Jaust join Avison Young from Transwestern, where they both served in project management supervisory roles for the last several years.
In their new roles, both will oversee construction projects for Avison Young clients and will manage schedule and budget development as well as providing on-site supervision.
Alan Zambarano brings 19 years of experience to his new position. At Transwestern, he supervised a team that oversaw assignments throughout the Northeast region. Prior to his time at Transwestern, he also served as project manager for The Walsh Company, which was later acquired by Avison Young.
He holds a degree from the Roger Williams University School of Architecture in Rhode Island.

Mandy Jaust has over 18 years of experience in commercial construction and project management .
Earlier in her career, she held positions with Mack-Cali, and GVA Williams.
Jaust holds a degree from High Point University in High Point, NC.

Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation (MMCC) announced that Erika Banach has joined the firm as vice president, capital markets.
Banach brings over 15 years of real estate and international business experience to MMCC.
Previously, as director of Extell New York Regional Center and Extell Utah Regional Center, Banach managed the EB5 business and raised capital for numerous marquee developments.
Banach earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from The University of Scranton and an M.B.A. from Baruch College.

Seward & Kissel LLP announced the promotion of Danielle Lemberg, Sagar Patel, and Bryan Swiss to counsel.
Daniell Lemberg is a member of the Firm’s Business Transactions Group. She represents private equity and other investment management firms, private companies, and other clients in a range of business transactions.
In the last year, Lemberg has contributed significantly to numerous M&A transactions, including the acquisition of the digital therapeutics company Amblyotech, Inc. by Novartis.
She is co-founder of the Seward & Kissel Women’s Initiative.
Lemberg received a B.A., summa cum laude, from the William E. Macaulay Honors College at Baruch College and her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Sagar Patel is a member of the Firm’s Global Finance and Restructuring Group. He has extensive experience representing corporate trustees, administrative agents, collateral agents, and other clients in a variety of financing and restructuring transactions.
Patel received a B.A. from Rutgers University and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
Bryan Swiss is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate Group. He has broad experience representing institutional investors and individuals in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions.
Swiss has spent his entire career in private practice at Seward & Kissel. He received a B.S. from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from New York University School of Law.

Katz & Associates announced promotions of Holly Buchanan, CCIM, Donny Moskovic, and David Yablon.
Donny Moskovic, located in the Katz New Jersey office, has been promoted to senior director. He has 29 years in the business, including the past seven years at Katz since joining in 2013.
Some notable deals of 2020 include leases completed with NAPA Auto Parts, Volkswagen, River Street Sweets Savannas Candy Kitchen, and multiple investment sales.
In addition to the traditional retail transactions, Moskovic has built a reputation as a leader in the cannabis real estate space and works with multi state operators on leases, sales and merger & acquisitions.
David Yablon, located in the Katz New York City office, has been promoted to director.
Some key highlights from this year include Yablon’s work helping to bring Gansevoort Market Food Hall to the Westfield World Trade Center Shops at the Oculus, and assisting Dough Pizza with their entry into Manhattan with a new location set to open on Ludlow Street on the Lower East Side.
Holly Buchanan, CCIM, has been promoted to senior director. She’s been with Katz for the past four years and has over 20 years of retail real estate experience overall.

Greystone announced that Jeff Pirhalla has joined as a Director for the firm’s Agency lending platform.
Pirhalla will focus on bank correspondent and lending relationships intended to drive volume for Greystone’s small loans and overall Agency lending platforms.
Pirhalla comes to Greystone after five years at CBRE, where he founded the Wholesale and Bank Correspondent Lending divisions.
His previous roles included National Accounts Manager for Sabal Financial; portfolio surveillance and risk analysis for Wells Fargo’s $600 billion CMBS and Agency loan portfolios; and being instrumental in the expansion of several commercial real estate lending platforms for Impac Commercial Capital Corp, SunTrust Banks, and JPMorgan’s CMBS division.

CBRE announced the hiring of Karly Iacono to the firm’s prominent Net Lease Property Group.
Based in CBRE’s Saddle Brook, NJ office, Iacono joins CBRE as a senior vice president.
Previously, Iacono served as a first vice president of investments at Marcus & Millichap
She is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network.

TerraCRG has added two new leasing associates.
Jackson O’Neill represents both tenants and landlords in the office leasing space.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Franklin & Marshall College, where he was also a four-year member of the lacrosse team.
Prior to joining TerraCRG, O’Neill interned at Cushman & Wakefield.
Joseph Rufini specializes in connecting businesses with the perfect space.
A Bay Area native, he moved to New York in 2016 and graduated from Fordham University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a concentration on marketing and information systems.
