Tulfra Real Estate principals S. Lloyd Tulp and Salvatore V. Frassetto announced the appointment of Sonny Jumani as president and CEO of the firm.
Tulp and Frassetto will serve as co-chairmen.
Jumani has been a part of Tulfra real estate for 15 years; he was named partner and president of the firm in 2014. During that time, he managed Tulfra’s portfolio of four million square feet of properties.
Under Jumani’s leadership, Tulfra has repositioned itself from a developer of industrial and leasing to a complete ground-up organization.

CBRE announced that Sheera Riemer has joined the firm as a Vice President based in Stamford, Connecticut.
Riemer will provide exceptional service to current clients while also leveraging her existing relationships to develop new opportunities.
Riemer joins CBRE from Newmark, where she worked as Director, Global Corporate Services and managed the delivery of strategic real estate advisory services to corporate clients in more than 40 countries.
She graduated from Yeshiva University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.

Urban Edge Properties announced that Sandi Danick has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Leasing.
With more than 30 years in retail leasing, Danick joins as a key team member as UE embarks on a plan to enhance the retail offerings at its flagship asset, Bergen Town Center and other key properties in the portfolio.
She will focus on new brands and partnerships to position Bergen Town Center and UE’s broader portfolio for growth in the future.
Danick was most recently at Triple Five Properties, overseeing leasing for two of the country’s most high-profile retail destinations, American Dream and Mall of America.
She joined Triple Five in October of 2012 after having long-term tenures with some of the nation’s largest retail developers such as Macerich, Westfield and Glimcher. Danick is a graduate of American University with a BSBA in Real Estate, Finance and Urban Development.

Denise Ciaravino has been promoted to portfolio manager at Levin Management Corporation (LMC).
Ciaravino joined LMC in 2006 as property manager and was named senior property manager in 2009. For the past decade she has overseen the day-to-day operation of a shopping center portfolio totaling approximately one million square feet.
In her new role as portfolio manager, Ciaravino will also be the single point of contact for a nine-property, 840,000 s/f management assignment recently awarded to LMC.
Ciaravino earned her bachelor’s degree in management science from Kean University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She also received the RPA (Real Property Administrator) designation from BOMI International.

Cresa has welcomed Ryan C. Parsons as an associate at the New York office. He will be working with a team lead by Gregg Cohen, principal.
Previously, Parsons was an associate advisor at CPEX/SVN in Brooklyn, specializing in investment sales and retail leasing.
A 2020 graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, with an English Major, he studied journalism and communications at IES University in Barcelona, Spain, throughout 2019, where he interned for local publications.
While at Bucknell, Parsons played Lacrosse for the university’s NCAA Division 1 team.
He is skilled in 3D technology and also worked in digital media before joining Cresa.

Alfred Sanzari Enterprises announced the hiring of Timothy DeCola as Chief Financial Officer.
DeCola has over 25 years of experience in real estate financial management.
Previously, DeCola was chief financial officer at Black Spruce Management and, before that, served as the Chief Financial Officer for several real estate management and development companies including McConnell Development, The Commonwealth Group, Pettinaro Construction Company and Levin Management Corporation.
DeCola holds a B.S. in Finance and an MBA in Accounting from LaSalle University. He is also a decorated veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan who reached the rank of Master Sergeant in the Marine Corps Reserves and was awarded the Marine Corps Achievement Medal in 2003 and the Meritorious Service Award in 2011.

Avison Young’s Fairfield/Westchester County office announced the hiring of John S. Gray as an Executive Director on the landlord and tenant representation team.
With over 38 years of commercial real estate experience, Gray will provide brokerage and advisory services for clients throughout the New York City, Westchester and Fairfield County markets.
Gray joins the firm from Cushman & Wakefield, where he served as an Executive Director for over two decades. He also previously worked as a Senior Vice President at Jones Lang Wooten and Executive Vice President at Charles Mackall & Co.
Throughout his career, Gray and his team have been responsible for completing over six million square feet of transactions for a diverse list of clients that include Siemens Corporation, Merrill Lynch and Citibank N.A.
He has been the recipient of numerous industry accolades, earning the Real Estate Board of New York’s Deal of the Year award twice. He also played an instrumental role in his prior firm receiving the REBNY Retail Deal of the Year award for the largest retail deal at 740 Madison Avenue. Additionally, he was also recognized as one of the Top 100 Brokers in the nation and Top 40 New York Brokers at his previous brokerage firm.

Kimco Realty Corp. has hired Tamara Chernomordik as the Director of ESG.
Chernomordik will be responsible for leading the strategic development and implementation of the company’s ESG program, guiding Kimco on the path towards achieving its publicly stated goals.
Chernomordik comes to Kimco with over a decade of industry-specific experience including expertise in ESG and corporate sustainability, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
She was most recently at Prologis, a leading industrial REIT, where she was responsible for developing, implementing, and managing ESG strategies and programs that created business value across key stakeholder groups.

Ashcroft Capital announced the addition of Bill Kay as managing director of capital markets.
Kay will support Ashcroft’s continued emergence in the rental-housing sector as the company continues to acquire assets in its existing markets in the Sunbelt and seeks to enter new markets.
Prior to joining Ashcroft, Kay held senior leadership roles at Lubert-Adler Real Estate, Apollo Global Management, Morgan Stanley AIP and others.
A Dartmouth College graduate with an MBA from The Fox School of Business and Management at Temple University, he has extensive global experience advising investors in tactical and strategic portfolio construction.
His strategic acumen encompasses an extensive array of private strategies in fund, direct and co-investment formats.

BentallGreenOak (BGO) announced the appointment of John Carrafiell to co-CEO and member of the Board of Directors.
Carrafiell joins Sonny Kalsi as co-Chief Executive Officer, and Amy Price, president of BGO, the three leaders will form the firm’s Global Executive Team.
He will be based in the U.S. with global responsibilities as co-CEO, while continuing to oversee BGO’s European business.
Based in Europe since 1989, Carrafiell co-founded GreenOak Real Estate in 2010, which grew to $12 billion of assets under management with investment management activity in 10 countries.
Since the merger of GreenOak and Bentall Kennedy, in July 2019, to form BentallGreenOak, he has served as Senior Managing Partner with oversight for the firm’s European Business.
Over a 33-year career in real estate, Carrafiell has been Head of European Real Estate for Morgan Stanley; Global Co-Head of Morgan Stanley Real Estate (MSRE) and a member of the Morgan Stanley Global Investment Banking Division’s six-person Operating Committee.

The Society for Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) announced that it has named Brandon Hensley as its new Chief Operating Officer.
Hensley brings more than 20 years of association management knowledge and leadership to SIOR. He has spent the majority of his career leading and managing various aspects of nonprofit organizations.
During the past 10 years, Hensley served as Chief Operating Officer for the International Sign Association (ISA) and as the Executive Director of the National Association of Sign Supply Distributors (NASSD).
Prior to joining ISA in 2010, Hensley served as Vice President of Sales at National Trade Productions (NTP) in Alexandria, Virginia.
Hensley has managed more than 750 international partnerships and foreign sales agents over his career.

Walker & Dunlop Investment Partners has hired Brad Barsily as Managing Director and Head of WDIP Capital Raising.
Barsily was most recently an Executive Managing Director for CBRE Capital Advisors and led the group’s Institutional Equity business and its capital raising activities for the past seven years.
Before joining CBRE, he served as Director of Institutional Marketing & Investor Services at Rubenstein Partners. Barsily previously held senior in-house capital raising positions at a pair of LA-based real estate managers including CIM Groupand CityView. Prior to that, was Barsily was a principal with Atlantic-Pacific Capital. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly a decade with Connell Finance Company/Connell Real Estate & Development.
Barsily received his BA from Union College (NY) and his MBA from Columbia Graduate School of Business.

The National Leased Housing Association (NLHA) elected Cathy Pennington as its president.
Pennington is Senior Vice President and General Manager of Phipps Housing Services Inc. in New York City.
She has a 30-year career dedicated to providing affordable housing to low-income households in cities including Cleveland, Chicago, Newark and New York City.
Pennington will continue NLHA’s work to ensure sufficient funding for assisted rental housing programs including project-based rental assistance and housing choice vouchers.
NLHA will focus efforts on expanding bipartisan support for the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program.
Pennington received her BS in Social Work from Cleveland State University and a Master of Social Science Administration from Case Western Reserve University.

Greystone announced that Karen Ford has joined as a Vice President on the FHA lending team.
Ford has worked in the FHA Multifamily and Healthcare loan industry for over 30 years. Prior to joining Greystone, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Love Funding, top-ranked FHA lender that was acquired in August 2020 and where she worked for more than 25 years.
She also previously served as Chief Operating Officer of SVN, Southgate Realty LLC.

Cole Schotz announced Robert Augusto Riva has joined the firm’s New York office as a member of its Real Estate practice.
Riva, who has more than two decades of experience, served as head of the real estate finance practice at his prior firm.
Throughout his legal career, he has represented institutional lenders, banks, and other financial institutions, as well as owners and developers, in the financing, purchase, sale, and leasing of commercial real estate.
Prior to entering the field of law, Riva was an economist in Washington, D.C., where he worked for Congress, the National Academy of Sciences, the Office of Technology Assessment, as well as a public-private think tank.
He earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School.
