WHO’S NEWS: Eklud-Gomes add to empire; Triplemint welcomes eight agents

Triplemint announced the addition of eight new team members, including established New York City brokers Rodica Balan and Jonathan Jossen. New members of the firm’s rental team include Jennifer Betras, Madeleine Auffenberg, Nik Gak, Brandon Tucker and Dagmara Jack.
Rodica Balan joins from Halstead Property with six years of experience in the industry. She has a finance background and three degrees from New York University, including a Bachelor of Arts in political science, a Master of Arts in American studies and a Master of Public and Business Administration.
Balan is an experienced property investor both internationally and domestically. She is fluent in English, Romanian and Russian, and she is conversant in French, Spanish and Italian.
Jonathan Jossen joins Triplemint from Level Group with three years of experience in the industry.
Prior to real estate, he worked on Wall Street and was a member of the American Stock Exchange and New York Mercantile Exchange.
As a resident of Battery Park City for more than 26 years, Jossen is a New York City expert and primarily operates in the downtown market.

Houlihan Lawrence announced the appointment of Jeffrey J. Smith as Brokerage Manager of its East Fishkill office.
Smith started his real estate career as an agent with the firm in 2010.
He attended Marist College and is an active supporter of community causes, including the local food drive, the American Heart Association and the Multiple Sclerosis Society
He replaces Barbara Dudley, who has retired after 35 years in the business.
Smith was recipient of the 2014 Dutchess County Association of Realtors Recognition Award, the 2016 Houlihan Lawrence Silver Award, 2017 Houlihan Lawrence Gold Award, and the 2016 Five Star Real Estate Award.

Halstead announced that Tonia Moore has joined its Greenwich office as Director of Sales. She will work alongside Joann Erb, Executive Director of Sales in Greenwich, to co-manage the office.
Moore previously spent many years living in Fairfield County and recently moved back to the area with her family following a period in New York City.
During her time in New York, she worked for residential real estate firms including Douglas Elliman, where she was part of the sales team that marketed and sold the first condominium in Long Island City.
Tonia holds a B.A. from the University of Rhode Island.

Citi Habitats has tapped Eric Kidhardt to be the Senior Managing Director of the brokerage’s Greenwich Village office.
He will help real estate professionals build and grow their careers through comprehensive training and continuing education opportunities. In addition, he will recruit new and experienced agents and be responsible for building strong relationships with landlords and owners.
Prior to moving to this executive role, Kidhardt was an agent for 10 years at both Citi Habitats’ Upper East and Upper West Side offices.
Well-versed in both sales and rentals, he has specific expertise in townhouses – and successfully sold dozens of these homes throughout Harlem and Uptown Manhattan.
Kidhardt worked for the New York Public Library as a Conservator’s Assistant before moving to the brokerage industry.
A native of Burlington, Vermont, he obtained a B.A. at The University of Vermont. In 1999, he moved to New York to attend the School of Visual Arts, where he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree.

Douglas Elliman Real Estate announced that Justin Tuinstra, Glenn Davis and their team have joined the Eklund | Gomes Team.
Co-founded by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes, the team is among the highest achieving in the country. Tuinstra and Davis will both take on leadership roles as Executive Managers of New York, New Development Sales.
Tuinstra and Davis bring their entire sales volume of $200 million in active listings, including new development projects, 200 East 21st Street and 196 Orchard, with them.
Their current team members, Sklyer Rhoten, Erika Giordano, David Alex Andrejko, Kimberlee Knecht, Nicholas Compagnone, Diana Guo, Hakim Salih and Marc Riedel will also join them at the Eklund | Gomes Team’s boutique storefront office at 936 Broadway.
Throughout their careers, the Tuinstra-Davis Team has worked on 333 East 91st Street, 245 West 14th Street, Greystone on Hudson, 254 Park Avenue South, 393 West End Avenue, 199 Mott Street, 200 East 21st Street, 135 West 52nd Street, 196 Orchard, 330 Grand Street, 915 West End Avenue, 450 Broome Street, 363 Bond Street, 537 West 27th Street, 66 Clinton and 138 East 50th Street.

Douglas Elliman Real Estate announced the arrival of the The Novo+Herzberg+Babst Team at Douglas Elliman. The team joins Elliman from Corcoran and is led by Monica Novo.
The four-person team will work from Elliman’s Flatiron office located at 111 Fifth Avenue and will bring with them $60 million is new listings.
With 30 years in the business Novo has sold over $1 billion in residential new development, including The Gretsch Building, Zephyr Lofts and J Condominium, DUMBO, where she remains a building specialist.
She has worked with many celebrity and high profile clients and is co-owner of the Empire Diner in West Chelsea.
Daren Herzberg has 20 years of experience and over $500 million in transactional volume. Among the development properties he has sold are 135 West 4th Street, 519 West 23rd Street, 559 West 23rd Street and 121 West 15th Street.
Herzberg owns the Union Hotel in Gowanus, Brooklyn and has developed numerous boutique projects including 133 West 4th Street and one of Chelsea’s highest priced townhouses ever sold at 150 West 15th Street.
With nearly 17 years in New York City real estate and over a quarter billion dollars of completed transactions, Brian Babst has a history for breaking pricing records.
Before entering the real estate field, he worked at a Wall Street firm, performing equity research and securities analysis.

Suchetha Ottikkutti has joined The Marketing Directors (TMD) as Marketing Coordinator.
Ottikkutti will be responsible for the positioning of the firm’s properties in the market, product development, and the management of TMD efforts in PR and ongoing sales and leasing.
Ottikkutti recently graduated from LIM College with a master’s degree in merchandising and marketing operations. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in fashion design from Raffles College of Design and Commerce.
After a part-time administrative position with TMD in 2018, Ottikkutti decided to switch her career path from fashion to real estate.

Mike Walker has joined R New York as residential sales manager.
Walker has over 17 years of experience as a broker owner, director of sales and as a developer, with projects ranging from small restorations, to full-scale development.
Walker has spent the greater part of the last nine years teaching real estate negotiation and sales around the country. He has taught various aspects of transaction negotiation, mediation and consumer
psychology to over 10,000 agents across 31 states in the U.S.
Walker has been licensed as a broker in both Colorado and New York and is a member of REBNY.
