WHOʼS NEWS: American International Group, Inc. announced that James “Jamie” Love will join the company as Global Head of Real Estate.

American International Group, Inc. announced that James “Jamie” Love will join the company as Global Head of Real Estate.

Love will be based in New York and report to Peter Zaffino, AIG’s Global Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer, General Insurance.

He will be responsible for aligning AIG’s global real estate footprint with the company’s overall operational and financial objectives. In his role, he will lead strategic planning for AIG’s owned and leased assets.

Love brings to AIG nearly 20 years of experience as Vice President, Head of Real Estate Strategy – Americas, at Goldman, Sachs & Co. There he led the development and management of Goldman’s long-term real estate strategy while coordinating all operational aspects of Goldman’s real estate holdings.

Prior to Goldman, he spent 10 years directing portfolio administration and transaction management in the Corporate Real Estate group of another large financial institution.

Charter Realty & Development Corp. announced that Craig Gambardella has joined its brokerage team.

He will concentrate on expanding tenant and retail owner representation in the healthcare space.

Gambardella works with medical clients throughout the tri-state area and specializes in developing real estate strategies to support healthcare organizations looking to best serve their patients.

Additionally, he represents owners looking to attract healthcare organizations to their properties.

Prior to joining Charter Realty, Gambardella worked for a healthcare startup, and was responsible for business development.

He is a member of ICSC as well as the Connecticut Chapter of Medical Group Management Association and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

B6 Real Estate Advisors announced the appointment of Jerry Ellis as Senior Managing Director in B6’s Capital Advisory Division.

Ellis possesses over 25 years of commercial real estate and finance experience and has participated in the origination, underwriting and closing of more than $10 billion in domestic and international transactions.

He specializes in the structuring of permanent, bridge and mezzanine loans as well as preferred and common equity. His experience spans across all asset classes including office, warehouse, retail, multifamily and hospitality.

Prior to joining B6, Ellis was Managing Director with Barclays Capital overseeing commercial real estate loan origination.

He has also held senior banking roles at Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and executive leadership positions at private banking and investment firms.

Ellis holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Notre Dame.

Alfred Sanzari Enterprises announced the appointment of John Melville to the role of General Manager of Glenpointe office destination.

Melville will oversee day-to-day management of the flagship asset, a 50-acre office and hospitality complex.

He brings a diverse background and track record as a real estate asset manager to the role. Prior to joining Alfred Sanzari Enterprises, Melville served as Property Manager for Newmark Knight Frank leading daily operations of two institutional quality office buildings and oversaw the complete delivery and lease-up of a $1.8 billion midtown Manhattan mixed-use development, including a new Marriott Edition Hotel.

Previously, he served as Director of Tenant Management for Greystone Management Solutions, overseeing all areas of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Real Estate Department’s portfolio of leased spaces. Prior to that role, he was Director of Construction Management for the MTA.

JASA, a New York agency providing essential services for older New Yorkers, has announced the appointment of Martin Siroka as the new President of the agency’s Board of Trustees.

He has served on JASA’s Board since 2007 and will assume the role previously held by Mark R. Imowitz, who will continue to serve as Vice President of the Board.

Siroka is a Partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP and brings an extensive background in affordable housing and real estate financing.

He has more than 40 years of experience working on multifamily housing developments and federal, state and local government housing programs. He will be combining that business background with his passion for JASA in his new position.

Before entering private practice in 1998, Siroka served the City of New York for 20 years in various capacities, including as vice president and general counsel of the Housing Development Corporation and deputy general counsel to the Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

Becker, a multi-practice commercial law firm, announced that Tana Bucca has joined the firm as a Shareholder in the Community Association practice based in New Jersey.

Bucca was most recently with Stark & Stark as the lead attorney out of the firm’s Northern New Jersey Office.

Bucca represents condominium associations, homeowner associations and cooperatives throughout New Jersey.

She has extensive experience with commercial litigation and creditors’ rights matters.

Alexander Hochhausl, P.E., is a Practice Leader and Manager of HVAC and has over 20 years of experience in HVAC and utility generation and distribution systems.

Jay Pisco, P.E., is a Vice President and Deputy Market Leader for the Municipal Market Sector with more than 38 years of experience working on municipal and private projects.

James Roberts, P.E., is a Vice President and Market Leader of Water and Wastewater with more than 35 years of experience in engineering and operations and maintenance of water supply, distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater management.

William Rockensies, P.E., is a Vice President and the Director of Construction Services with over 30 years of engineering design and construction management experience.

AKRF, Inc. announced Karen Armfield has joined the firm as senior technical director for geotechnical services.

Armfield is a licensed engineer with over 20 years of experience in infrastructure engineering.

She will help grow the firm’s design and analytical capabilities for rail, highway, bridge, airport, port, wastewater and energy facilities.

Armfield’s contributions to improved mobility around New York City include the Henry Hudson Parkway rehabilitation and the Bruckner/Sheridan Expressway reconstruction; airport expansions and improvement projects at JFK International Airport, LaGuardia Airport and multiple MTA projects.
