Madison Capital and Salmar Properties have closed a 21,027- square foot lease on the third floor of Liberty Bklyn at 850 3rd Avenue in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, with new tenant Vestiaire Collective, the leading global luxury secondhand platform. The brand is moving from
its previous New York location at the Starrett Lehigh Building in Manhattan to expand their space from approximately 9,000 square feet to 21,027 square feet.
Liberty Bklyn has signed over 200,000 square feet of new leasing in the past three months as momentum continues building at the property. The tenant signing comes on the heels of a new 79,000-square foot lease for Care/of and a lease expansion for Prose to nearly 73,000 square feet.
Liberty Bklyn’s enhanced loading and shipping capabilities will be integral to Vestiaire Collective’s rapidly growing operations. The facility also offers the infrastructure and space to expand as the business scales, which was a major factor in the decision to move into the building.
Vestiaire Collective is the leading global app for desirable pre-loved fashion. It is dedicated to transforming the fashion industry for a more sustainable future by promoting the circular fashion movement as an alternative to overproduction and overconsumption and the wasteful practices of the fashion industry. The platform is unique thanks to its highly engaged community and its rare, desirable inventory of 3 million items. Launched in Paris in 2009, Vestiaire Collective is a Certified B Corporation® with offices in Paris, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore and a tech hub in Berlin.
“As Vestiaire Collective seeks to build a more sustainable fashion industry, we look forward to helping enable their North American growth,” said Jonathan Ratner, Managing Director, Madison Capital. “We’re excited to welcome the brand to Liberty Bklyn and the Sunset Park community of innovators.”
Vestiaire Collective was represented by Marilynn Joyner and Eric Deutsch of CBRE. Liberty Bklyn was represented by David Junik, Nechama Liberow, Steve Nadel and Mark Caso of Pinnacle Realty on the lease.
“Vestiaire Collective is a major force in creating a more circular fashion economy,” said Deutsch, Vice Chairman, CBRE. “The space at Liberty Bklyn is uniquely suited to deliver on the brand’s fast-paced, high-volume logistics and distribution needs, while empowering and accommodating the company’s growth.”
