SL Green announced that Markel Services, Inc., a global holding company for insurance, reinsurance and investment, signed a ten-year extension at 1185 Avenue of the Americas covering 27,505 s/f on the entire 8th floor.
“We’ve enjoyed a long relationship with Markel Services,” said Steven Durels, executive vice president, director of leasing afor SL Green. “Prior to its occupancy at 1185 Avenue of the Americas, Markel was a tenant at 1350 Avenue of the Americas which is another SL Green-owned building.”
1185 Avenue of the Americas is currently undergoing an upgrade that includes a new lobby and elevator cabs. Other building tenants include Hess Corporation, News America, Inc, RSM McGladrey and King & Spalding.
William Golden of Cushman & Wakefield represented Markel Services, while SL Green’s Howard Tenenbaum and Gary Rosen acted for the landlord.
