Macklowe taps team to sell retail condo

Cushman & Wakefield has been appointed by Macklowe Properties to market the corner retail condominium at the base of 150 East 72nd Street.
Macklowe Properties recently converted 150 East 72nd Street into a luxury condominium property.
150 East 72nd Street provides investors the opportunity to acquire and reposition a retail corner in a world-class corridor.
The property is currently divided into four individual retail storefronts, totaling 4,000 s/f of ground floor space with 1,300 s/f of below-grade space.
Due to near-term lease expirations, three of the units can be combined to create one contiguous corner storefront with 122 ft. of wraparound frontage and exposure on two high-traffic thoroughfares.
A Cushman & Wakefield New York Capital Markets team of Helen Hwang, Nat Rockett, Steve Kohn, Karen Wiedenmann, Gideon Gil and John LiGreci are marketing the site on behalf of Macklowe Properties.
“The retail condominium at 150 East 72nd Street provides investors flexibility to add value by creating one large, corner storefront or subdividing into multiple boutique shops. This is an extremely rare opportunity where an investor can realize their own vision for this prime corner unit,” said Hwang.
“150 East 72nd Street is one of the best storefronts on Lexington Avenue and provides excellent exposure in a market that is renowned for high-end luxury retailers,” said Kohn.

Westside Market opening on East Side
Westside Market NYC, the family-owned and operated neighborhood food markets in New York City, has announced that it will be opening its latest location at the base of the new luxury rental building, 84 Third Avenue.
Located in the East Village on the corner of East 12th Street, this marks the fifth Westside Market NYC, and the first for the brand to be located on the East Side of Manhattan.
The two-level store will occupy 18,871 s/f – 10,500 s/f at the ground level and the remaining space at the lower level.
Noticing a gap in the market for food retailers in the area, representatives from 84 Third Avenue felt that adding Westside Market NYC to the building would help further elevate the offerings at the nine-story, 90,000 s/f residential development and the neighborhood overall.
Currently under construction, Westside Market NYC and 84 Third Avenue will be completed early next summer, according to Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Retail’s Stu Morden, Westside Market NYC’s real estate advisor.
