Peter Nicoletti exits JLL for Colliers

Colliers International has Peter Nicoletti as Managing Director, Head of New York City Capital Markets.

Widely regarded as one of the most successful professionals in the industry, Nicoletti brings 30 years of experience, most recently served at JLL.

During nearly 13 years at JLL, Nicoletti led three of the firm’s highest-performing capital markets business lines and developed the platform into one of the top global brokerage teams.

He executed over $36.5 billion in transaction volume — including the $2.5 billion sale and $1.1 billion financing for the Swedish Pension Fund as well as the sale and financing of Five Bryant Park on behalf of the Blackstone Group to Savanna.

He completed multiple billion-dollar portfolio sales and financings for several clients including TA Realty, Atlas and Hines U.S. REIT and led the financing for high-profile condo tower developments in New York City as head of JLL’s mortgage brokerage business, which he created.

Nicoletti’s appointment comes as Colliers continues to strengthen its global capital markets business. The firm recently hired Boston-based managing director Frank Petz, who previously served as JLL’s head of New England capital markets, to join Jacklene Chesler in New Jersey.

The firm also recently acquired a controlling interest in Dougherty Financial Group LLC to further strengthen its U.S. debt and agency finance platform.

“Pete Nicoletti is one of the most accomplished and forward-thinking professionals in the business,” said David Amsterdam, President, Capital Markets and Northeast Region.

“His experience across multiple verticals within capital markets is unparalleled and his record of completing some of the largest investment sales in recent memory as well as several multi-billion dollar portfolio and loan sales is tremendous. Adding professionals like Pete will further establish Colliers in the region and across the country and attract the talented, entrepreneurial individuals we’re looking for to help us continue to grow.”

“We have a unique opportunity to grow the capital markets platform at Colliers around strong leadership and build a talented framework of professionals in New York City,” said Nicoletti.

“Colliers’ brokerage model encourages innovative thinking, collaboration and transparency. This team-first culture will allow us to execute at the highest level, expand our business lines and add talented individuals, creating a capital markets platform unlike any in the market today.”

Nicoletti will lead sales while also overseeing debt and equity placement with a specific focus on New York City.

With several significant hires over the last 9 months throughout the region, Colliers has been one of the most active brokerages expanding in the New York Tri-State, Boston and D.C. with plans to continue expansion over the next several years.
