Jacky Teplitzky, a managing director at Prudential Douglas Elliman has expanded her operations in to Florida.
She has joined the state’s Douglas Elliman firm as an associate broker. Teplitzky will focus on Miami, where she has already conducted multiple deals, including transactions at Jade Ocean and Epic, two of the city’s top luxury developments.
“This is a strategic move,” Teplitzky said. “To continue to be successful in real estate, one must diversify and reach as many of those who are buying and selling as possible.”
Foreigners are buying, selling and investing in larger numbers in New York and South Florida, where many Russians and South Americans, including those from Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Colombia and Chile, are purchasing.
“I am taking advantage of this wave of fresh buyers,” Teplitzky explained, noting she already has a roster of established and active clients in those locations.
According to the Miami Association of Realtors, foreigners account for more than 65 percent of all condo and home sales in Miami.
Her decision to expand to Miami has been in the making for nearly a year. Teplitzky — who is from Chile and fluent in Spanish and has basic knowledge of Portuñol, a combination of Spanish and Portuguese — has restructured her business model and is hiring agents who are fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
Laura Steinbruckner, formerly of Related Cervera Realty, will head the group in Miami. Teplitzky will travel between both cities. “With technology being the way it is, I am just as accessible in New York as I am in Miami and vice versa,” she said.
