Olson Kundig-designed homes at Mill District reach important milestone with California Department of Real Estate

Mill District, a new neighborhood in the heart of downtown Healdsburg, has received approval of the Public Report for its initial residences. This milestone means that the luxury residences branded as Canopy at Mill District and designed by world-renowned architecture firm Olson Kundig are formally green-lit for sales.

Mill District has eagerly anticipated this news. For the past number of months individuals interested in Canopy at Mill District have had the opportunity to secure a specific home in advance of sales with a reservation and deposit. The reservation program has seen a very strong response resulting in the  majority of the homes at Canopy allocated to reservation holders. With these approvals, Mill District’s sales team will formalize Purchase and Sale Agreements with Reservation Holders and offer the remaining homes to the general public.

Greg Ashley, chief strategy officer for Replay Destinations, developer of Mill District, said he was pleased by this milestone.

“We have a very strong and passionate group of individuals who connected early-on with what we are creating here,” Ashley said. “Like us, they love the experiences of Sonoma Wine Country, architecture and design, food, wine, cycling and recreation. They are clearly enthusiastic about Mill District. They have demonstrated this belief with early selection of a home in our first residences, Canopy. This approval allows us to formalize the purchase of their selected home, welcoming them as founding owners of Mill District.”

Canopy, the initial 43 residences of Mill District, includes the only penthouses in wine country with panoramic treetop living and outlooks of historic downtown Healdsburg, four two-story garden homes with spacious outdoor living, and thirty-four flats that offer single-level living ranging from studios to three-bedrooms. Canopy homes sit within The Preserve, a lushly landscaped grove of majestic heritage redwood trees and are steps from downtown Healdsburg.

These residences include indoor and outdoor chef-grade kitchens fused with contemporary luxury creating a warm, inviting ambiance. Premium finishes and natural materials are prevalent throughout and spa-inspired bathrooms feature free-standing sculptural tubs, frameless and curbless glass showers and marble walls. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide natural light and views while maintaining privacy.
