Queens-based developer RockFarmer Properties is pleased to announce that Northwell Health Inc., New York State’s largest health care provider and private employer, has signed a 12-year lease for 8,511 square feet at The Rowan, a recently completed 46-unit luxury condominium located at 21-31 31st Street in Astoria, Queens.
“We are excited to have Northwell Health round out the retail at The Rowan,” said Kostas Koutsothanasis, Chief Operating Officer of RockFarmer Properties. “As a leading health care provider in New York City, Northwell Health’s new site will provide a convenient location for local residents to take advantage of.”
The street-level space, which boasts 92 feet of retail frontage and automated onsite parking for customers, will be used as a medical space for non-ambulatory exams and procedures. The new location is expected to open later this year.
“Northwell remains committed to providing high-quality care in the communities we serve,” said Kevin Beiner, senior vice president and regional executive director of the health system’s western region. “This investment is just another example of how we are bringing top-notch services closer to people’s homes. We are excited to talk more about this facility when it opens later this year.”
With Northwell Health’s new lease in place, The Rowan’s retail spaces are now 100 percent leased. Last month, RockFarmer announced that regional grocery store Lincoln Market signed a 20-year lease for 16,760 square feet at the luxury condo designed by DXA Studios.
Kostas Koutsothanasis of RockFarmer Properties represented the landlord, RockFarmer Properties, in the transaction; Northwell Health Inc. was represented by Darren Leiderman, Jordan Baruch and Matthew Kucker of Colliers International.
Astoria is also home to a number of chef-driven restaurants and retailers and is set to welcome a sprawling new $600M, Robert DeNiro-backed movie studio designed by Bjarke Ingels Group that is expected to open in 2023.
Only four homes remain available for purchase at The Rowan ranging in size from a two-bedroom, two-bath residence asking $1,565,000, to a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath penthouse with a 247-square-foot terrace asking 2,175,000.
