New York skyline to turn red for AIDS awareness

More than two dozen buildings across New York will be lit in red tonight (Thursday) to raise awareness of people living with HIV/AIDS, end the stigma associated with the epidemic, and declare that AIDS is not over. This initiative will also build momentum towards the annual AIDS Walk this Sunday, May 21 in Central Park.  Buildings that will be awash in red include 1 World Trade Center, the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, the JFK International Control Tower, the New York Stock Exchange, Bloomingdale’s, The Shops at Columbus Circle and St. John the Divine, among many others.
