New golfing experience coming to Long Island mall

The Samanea New York Mall in Westbury, Long Island, has signed another entertainment tenant to its roster.

X-Golf, an indoor golf and bar-restaurant concept, will open a 6,300 s/f venue near the Old Country Road entrance on the North West side of the property.

The new location will feature X-Golf America’s proprietary technology with state-of-the-art simulators and software, as well as a full bar and restaurant. Offering tee times, private lessons, tournaments and events, X-Golf caters to all skill levels and has grown to nearly 40 locations across the US since launching here in 2016.

“Simulated golf has become a major entertainment attraction across the country, and we are proud to offer the first X-Golf location on Long Island,” said Dominic Coluccio, Samanea New York’s Chief Leasing & Development Officer. “The distinctive X-Golf experience is consistent with Samanea NY’s vision to repurpose this iconic site into a one-of-a-kind entertainment destination.  X-Golf will be a great addition to our other entertainment occupants.”

Located along one of Long Island’s most traveled retail corridors Samanea New York Mall is the former “Fortunoff Mall at the Source.” Lesso Mall Development, – a Hong  Kong-based company – bought the property for $92 million in 2017 when it was all-but-empty of tenants. The new owner carried out a $27 million renovation and, despite the pandemic, has managed to secure a slew of new tenants and fill over 60 percent of the 750,000 s/f mall.

X-Golf will join a roster that includes the Empire Adventure Park, Dave & Buster’s, The Cheesecake Factory, Bloomingdale’s Furniture Outlet, Kawai Piano Outlet, 99 Ranch Supermarket and new restaurants Szechuan Cuisine and K-Pot, a Korean hotpot and grill restaurant which will open in 2022 in an area on the first floor of the mall designed as Restaurant Row.

Coluccio managed the lease negotiations with X-Golf alongside his colleagues at Lesso Mall Development and Samanea New York’s exclusive broker, Colliers International, including Herb Agin, Matthew Kucker, Jordan Baruch. X-Golf worked with Bradley Diamond of Parallel Realty Group LLC.

Christopher P. Sciocchetti, co-owner, X-Golf Westbury said, “The X-Golf golf simulators give players unparalleled accuracy and realism through a combination of camera systems, infrared lasers, impact sensors and advanced gaming software. Unlike other golf simulators, Westbury guests will really enjoy the ability to practice their short game and putting capabilities, so they can fully experience a round from tee to green with acute accuracy.”

X-Golf caters to all levels of golfers and offers a restaurant and bar.

Launched in 2016, X-Golf has 34 locations across the U.S. and 34 additional locations in development. This will be the first X-Golf location on Long Island, with an anticipated opening date this Winter.

Sciocchetti added, “We are looking forward to introducing X-Golf to Long Island’s avid golfing community. Samanea New York’s location in central Nassau County will be the ideal site for us to attract customers from across the large and diverse region.  Whether it’s a golf enthusiast, a child wanting to learn, or friends looking for a fun night out, we invite everyone to come and experience the X-Golf difference.”
