Nasdaq opens new Times Square headquarters

Nasdaq, Inc. has opened its new global headquarters at the Durst Organization’s 151 West 42nd Street.

The space includes a Client Experience Center on the 10th floor, featuring a 2,100 s/f outdoor terrace above the iconic Nasdaq Tower in Times Square.

The new state-of-the-art Client Experience Center has the capacity to host 400 people for industry and corporate events. During the next two years the company will consolidate its remaining New York office space into the new location.

“As the financial services industry has gravitated to Midtown in New York City, Nasdaq’s relocation of our global headquarters to Times Square is emblematic of our mission to remain close to our clients in order to better serve their needs,” said Adena Friedman, President and CEO, Nasdaq.

“With our expanded footprint in our new facility, we are able to bring together all employees in New York, creating a collaborative environment that fosters our culture of innovation. At Nasdaq, we continue to move forward and pursue the bold ideas that will not only help address challenges and opportunities faced by our clients today but also shape the markets of tomorrow.”

Nasdaq relocated its global headquarters from downtown Manhattan to midtown, expanding its lease at the Times Square office tower from where it broadcasts the market opening and closing bell ceremonies.

It occupies 145,000 s/f at the former Condé Nast Building, a 48-story tower built in 1999. Durst spent $140 million renovating the property with a new entrance and lobby, among other upgrades.
